Default for anyone running Boostmonkeys OFAM ECU

I have recently purchased the ofam ecu and would like to know what is used in ways of boost control?

does it retain the oe amal valve or require some form of aftermarket boost controller?

any help/advice would be much appreciated

Andy iirc it's just a megasquirt internally and software I'm sure it will run a basic mac valve

Surely it cant be that hard as its a megasquirt v2 ecu inside that casing and loads of people/tuners install/map them.

I'm unsure mate as I'm not sure what rob @ boostmonkey as done ..it maybe a just MS with a new casing or it could have been changed slightly ..im just giving you all the heads up ..

Here's some of the earlier problems of contact with them .

passionford.com/forum/ford-escort-rs-turbo/492548-boost-monkeys-still-trading.html

You're right loads of tuners are familiar with them ..jano and the likes so still worth fitting imo

If your ofac or ofab loom is mint then ofam is a good option otherwise you might as well megasquirt it with a new engine loom.

Another company should see if rob will sell the rights to it

The OFAM is a brilliant little product, means access to an after market ecu that can be diy fitted by anyone with a decent amount of mechanical know how

A mates mk3 escort runs one on a zt and it’s so simple to wire up due to extensive amounts of guides on how to convert to efi

The gen8 even looked good for those wanting a full new loom
