Turbo oil feed pipe NIGHTMARE (had to abandon car 17 miles away) !!
hi all
many of you may remember the nightmare with the turbo oil feed pipe BOLT as the space was incredibly tight hence took me 10 days approx to do, had to cut slots in bolt in the end and tap it tight.
Today I was coming home from Warrington (not far from IKEA) and just as I approached Burger King the low oil light flashed on, I immediately turned in and stopped the car, I discovered the oil was leaking form turbo oil pipe , again !!
Not actually the bolt this time were it was leaking last time, but from where the jubilee clips which connect the reinforced hose to the bit of remaining metal turbo pipe. very easy to access as it is on top of engine, but no matter how hard I tighten it it is still leaking all of a sudden but has nbot leaked before despite me using too clips !
I tried for 4 - 5 hours to tighten it before giving up and ringing my brother who brought me home, so now the car is Parked about 17 miles away in Warrington in an area I am unfamiliar with. I hope to go back tomorrow and try at it again, may have to get the bus up there.
any ideas on what I can do to stop the leak to get me home, or just try try with more clips ? ?
I want to get the car back home, buy the proper pipe and have it fitted properly.

Sure the people on here who fix cars for a living told you to renew the pipe instead of the bodge you carried out.

I will probably get bus up tomorrow (not sure the bus route will have to look it up) and have another look. I will probably bring more jubilee clips or something as well. Might even try and take bolt off though it is not leaking and it has slots on it I will have to be careful not to break them when tapping it. not really necessary to remove bolt would make it easier imo

Not to mention all the folk who don't fix cars for a living who said the same.
Just a shame the prediction of hot oil on the manifold and the car engulfed in flames didn't materialise.not that I wish the idiot any harm, just fed up seeing ongoing threads about his heap of crap car.

I ask again, where do you see the part where he hopes it engulfed you (killed you) ?

urm, where he says that it is a shame the hot oil on the manifold didn't engulf my car in flames , it is clearly written under his post

And where does it clearly say that he hopes it engulfed you (killed you) ?
Or doesn't it say that at all ?
Otherwise i'm blind cos i can only see that he even writes that he doesn't wish the idiot any harm ?
Or doesn't it say that either ?

There's a post on a Facebook Ford page I'm on a MK2 Focus parked up in Warrington engulfed in flames, fire engine trying to put the fire out. Police put a road block up. OP might want to get back to his car sharpish and hand himself in at the scene. I'll try and get a pic if possible.
