Default Sierra cosworth power output

Hi all!

I have a sierra cosworth powered RWD mk3 fiesta. Omex engine management, pico 490cc injectors and stage 2 turbo technics hybrid turbo. Currently running 293 bhp but having a remap in a couple of weeks.

Need some advice on what is a reliable power output? Currently running 1 bar of boost but can go to 1.5 bar (22psi).

What is the max you think I could get and what would be a safe level to have? Car is used for track days.

Thanks all

Matt

Stage 3 is fine for most drivers and easily achievable and in your car would be a handful/'hoot' (as I'm down with the kids!).

You really need to post the model of the turbo, as it may be a limiting factor.

As Martin said it would help to no wot size turbo you have like T3. T34. T38 and so on . And trust me on track with 290 ish BHP will do your head in my focos 4x4 was about 300 ish 😩😩 it's now running closer to 400 and it's still not cutting it for me so I'm now pushing on for 500BHP . But saying all that as you do more and more trackdays and your driving gets better into and out of the corners the faster you will go . So power is not all ways the big thing but on a Big track it is a problem not having the power to push the car

In a fiesta 300bhp should make a nice quick car, variation in lap speeds on trackdays is down to the driver, thats where the biggest gains are.

With the t3 turbo i,d stick at 300 for reliable power
You'll get a shit load more laps in than those with more highly stressed engines that break or only run for 10 mins at a time.

Power is the last thing to add on track. I would spend my money on good suspension and setup (6 degree beam would make a big difference), good tyres and save weight.

Then have as much tuition as you can afford, even when you think you are good, there is much more to learn. The car is able to go much quicker than your ability is likely to allow.

Dan Cooke and Trevor Reeves used to make my 911 go massively quicker than I could, I thought I needed more power but the car could do so much more.
