Just seen earlier today that it is available, give it a bash tomorrow I think. Slightly disappointed that the first one was very top gear esq. but hey, I guess that's what they do.

Thought it was terrible. I loved them in top gear but for me this is very poor and borderline boring. If no3 is as poor I'll be cancelling my Amazon prime

it was a another good watch for sure, one of the scenes did drag on too long very top gear of old but would rather have it than not, as a bad grand tour still knocks 7 bags of shit out of new top gear

Got to agree with your last comment Steve, new Top Gear was terrible. I hope Jenson takes over now he's on the dole!

my kids were in hysterics watching jezza falling out of a helicopter with his pants around his ankles

and then getting blown up

it's entertainment, loosely disguised as a motoring show, and that's the point i think the haterz are missing

the trio working together is what made top gear work, they had years to figure out what worked and what didn't and now appeal to the widest possible audience

however, one thing did concern me, my soon asked why they were driving cars until their tyres burst as "there was no fun in that, what if they got killed or run over?"

he's only 10

Someone needs to tell them to get rid celebrity brain crash or whatever the hell it is.

That part is awful. Luckily they didn't spend too much time on it in the second episode.

Liked it when Jezza looked like he genuinely shat himself in one of the P1 drag races at the end of the straight.

First one was ok, that second one was terrible. But as a worldwide show based in various countries, maybe the difference is to target those countries local audience ?
It really was shite, boring and repetitive for no good reason though.

And who is the fatty trying to drive the cars around the track ? Really doesnt seem like he's shit hot at driving ?

Its just shite they look even more scripted and uncomfortable and if it wasnt for the photography and editing it would be a total waste of life

Gotta admit, I'm surprised at some of the "features" they're doing. The Celebrity Brain Crash thing is completely and utterly pointless, and makes no sense. The army thing was way too dragged out and didn't add anything to the show. The fat yank doing the hot lap - why would you get a NASCAR driver (which we are led to believe he is) to do a circuit track hot lap? I thought I read somewhere they took Ben Collins back for it as a bit of a FU to Top Gear. Must be wrong though.

All in all, it's ok and nice to have the three old farts back on TV (ish) again, as they do work well together as mentioned previously. But just a little surprised at some of the content is all.

+1 Jay. Don't know if it's more scripted or they are reading off of autocue but something is definitely amiss. Can't see the programme ending tho as the fan base for that 3 is massive but I'm thinking i will watch this series and if it hasn't got any better then I won't be watching the next series

Finally others are admitting it's not as good as the hype!
The Aston Martin video was completely ruined by the over use of fire/flames and the whole studio/American driving around the track was dull and boring, but credit where due the main part was quite fun to watch
It does make you realise that the new top gear was not that bad after all but the only show that I have watched a second time is 5th gear which says lots to me

Even for the budget they have got I'm not impressed with it at all if I'm honest. Was really looking forward to it aswell so quite disappointed

Can't watch 5th gear at all, ever! That tiff just annoys the sh*t out of me and VBH aswell, she's one nippy f****r

Just watched episode 1 I like it just a few changed words basically still top gear, it's not a documentary it's just entertainment with cars in it, if you want facts watch 5th gear which I don't mind but it's not what the majority wants, the viewing figures will tell all I'm sure grand tour will be top, I watched a few minutes of new top gear and that was it changed channel, Chris Evans said "tonight" and Matt le blanc showed his face and that was it never to be seen again in our house lol

I really like fifth gear you can't beat seeing a car pushed beyond its limit and that is what tiff is great at, doesn't overload with metaphors either which seems to be the norm in car reviews these days.

I'm not fussed for the "entertainment" stuff, its usually overscripted and overly long drawn out I want to watch more of the nonsense where theyre driving /testing/comparing /thrashing all the cars from hyper cars down to everyday cars on the road and track.
anything else and we'll have seen it before its just the scenery that changes.

I have to admit I found parts of episode 2 a bit dragged out, like the airfield part, but overall it's good entertainment, I don't watch it for the nitty gritty of car mechanicals and specs, I thought the first episode was better, and hoping the third episode beats the first, can't wait for them to all go off somewhere and smash each other's cars up, it does feel a bit scripted at times but I'm starting to forget that and just enjoy it for entertainment value, think of a comedy program you enjoy watching and that will be all fake and scripted but you still enjoy that for what it is

Episode 2 was still good but didn't get the whole army bit, dragged on too long but was funny in parts, don't get the celebrity thing either, I'd love to see a few so called celebrities eaten by lions but if that's not going to happen I'm not bothered.
However it's a million times better than new top gear which I'll never watch again, only thing that made it was the trio that left, I'm sure they will progress with grand tour and develop it, if anything I think they are more comfortable with it as they are not restricted so much by the BBC PC brigade, still one of the best things on tv for me.
