I have to admit I tried to see if mine would do the 150mph their advertised to do once and that was early hours of the morning on a straight road in the summer and I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life, was sat in the middle of the motorway and soon as it hit the rev limiter in 5th I swore I'd never do that again. Always stay under 100 now no matter what and since I saw a young guy who was racing someone who crashed and died and he got in a lot of jail time for it I won't even start to race anyone anymore

how much does it cost to get a cosworth to a reliable 450bhp?
I remember going up against an amg merc sl in my cosworth bmw, it was like I was going backwards as he left me for dead

Rich guys don't think like that mate. They just think your a twat. If you meet a really fast car you would be destroyed its as simple as that. You cant race on the road with a really fast car because if it accelerates up a motorway slip road 10secs later its hit 200mph what do you do then Trev, go on the net & say how you were destroyed by a fast car of course not that don't make you sound cool.

It's been so long since I owned one Fuzzy I've forgotten TBH it's all down to the old 205 block 200 block gamble. Mine ran over 450 for years on my old Saff with a 205 block, others have cracked on a lot less power / torque.

As for pistons and rods, stock are fine with that figure, obviously you'll need the other parts, clutch, fuel pump, cooler, injectors, mapping, level 6 or 8 or after market ECU, bigger brakes to stop you bla bla

I've left m3s etc in the cos, in a straight line, but on the track I've also been left for dead by shitty looking golfs and even a mk3 astra, I'd rather have been left by the m3 but you never know what lurks beneath.

so going by ebay prices , £50 grand for an old sierra and another £10 grand to get it to 450bhp?
id rather have the bmw
bit of a broad assumption to make to think anyone in a fast/expensive car cant drive. so only poor people have the ability?

I wouldn't say that on the net cos I don't feel the need to, but if people wanna post stuff like that then that's up to them.

I personally have had races with all sorts, M3's (all shapes), evos, skylines, Aston Martins, various Porsches, and so on.
Some while rolling others from a stand still.
And I've never been beat yet.
Not claiming I have the quickest car in the world, it just happens to be faster than most.

I find a lot of these guys that drive these cars seem to think they are 'something special' and when they can't keep up with a 30 year old sierra that then makes me smile.

Wether their cars are standard and mines highly modded to me doesn't matter.

I recently had a tear up with a mate of mine who has a 996 turbo, decatted, remapped, custom exhausts.
Its a fast car, not even at full boost I was behind him on and off the throttle as he couldn't pull away from me, he was pretty amazed.

Cheers Paul

This is so true, they can afford super nice expensive cars but either can't drive them or are scared to.

So it's not always the car either.

And on track I have seen well set up fiestas and such like also waste a lot more powerful/expensive machinery

I am not desperate for your respect, I just told people what happened. I was out for a nice drive minding my own business when the bloke in his M3 deliberately undertakes me making as much noise as he can to try and impress me. He then didnt like it when I blew him away, his problem not mine.
Of course a rally bred 4 wheel drive Subaru Impreza or Lancer Evo will be quicker on rough twisty B roads , everyone knows that including me so I dont really get your point.
I am not making out my Saff is the quickest car out there but it can still suprise quite a few modern performance cars.
Just to add my Son has a 2001 Subaru Impreza which I have helped him with, modifying suspension brakes etc and upping the engine power up to 365bhp so I do know a bit about them.

E92 M3 M3 420bhp - I'm sure they actually make about 390-400 on the rollers
F80 M3 431 HP and 550 Nm of torque.

Unladen Weight3351 lbs OR 1520 kgGross Weight Limit4630 lbs OR 2100 kg

They are a bit of a handful until you get heat in the tyres tbh, but what fast turbo rwd car isn't? they do have 275/285 (competition pack) width mich pilot super sport tyres on the rear so i'd imagine they'd hook up nicely once warm and dry!

It's not quite a 450bhp cosworth but it's a bit better than that rusty toy merc amg you have already

I can always remember when the royal nail was at croft doing a few 0 to 60 sprints and there was a bloke and his mrs in posh cars. She was in her Bentley and he was in some sort of lambo. He got in the Bentley then went up against the royal nail and the van nacked it.

Then the bloke had a go against the van in his lambo and he got beat again. The bloke come back from the sprint and drove out of croft. It was so funny to watch.

A nackered looking old van that cost lest than 5k to make quick nacked the posh cars.

id be quite comfortable taking on a cosworth on twisty roads in my little toy merc, id bet mine wouldn't end up backwards in a hedge or at thye side of the road with a big puddle of oil under it

Epic car the gob stopper but u can't really compare it to any Cosworth as there is no Cosworth that's had that amount of money and development put into it, cars like the ag focus and the Andy Forrest Impreza are more impressive to me as both built on a budget and a match for this car.

I'm a ford fan through and through and have driven some seriously expensive cars properly, but to date the quickest of the mark and up to silly speeds is my mates 580hp classic wrx. He works offshore and has had it about 5 years and spent silly money on it on all the right bits but doesn't look anything special. Just a clean Subaru but my god can this thing go.

Look can be very deceiving

id rather have the bmw
bit of a broad assumption to make to think anyone in a fast/expensive car cant drive. so only poor people have the ability?
Think it depends what car it it, I'm pretty sure 99% of people that own drive a Ferrari/Lamborghini would rather sit and look at it and boast to their equally shallow associates how fast it is than drive it how it should be driven.
A Porsche GT3 RS owner on the other hand is probably more track/driver focused.
Been to the ring every year over the last 16 years and I've never been passed by anything exotic, other than GTR'S, GT3RS Porsche and local boys in the golfs etc

Had never heard of this van before Glenn so just had to google it.

Pretty impressive and the spec I found said it had 386bhp and could do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. They guy in the Lambo must have been pretty rubbish not to be able to match and or beat that though
