Default Wow!! 240mph

I knew it had done 240mph but only just seen this.
All Petrol heads will be in awe of this. This was Hypermax & no Fords in the list. Ive a Birthday soon & if asked what I want a look at the Data Log of that run would do me in front of anything else. I love the stats of these runs. He broke Kieths Cowies UK 0-300 kph record of 12.7secs in that run a car that Mark mapped. Imagine 0-187 in 12 secs & the running 240mph Wow!! Wow!! cant say much else.
First three over 225mph then 206mph in 4th a Speed we were running 12 years ago. Aventador at 201mph shows how hard 200mph is at Bruntingthorpe. The new engine is ready for the car (next week to be fitted) then maybe a Ford can do battle with these big boys although it will be at a Vmax as no entry at Hypermax for a 4 cylinder Ford im afraid.

Very impressive
Out of curiosity Rod, i know your car is specced/built for running at brunters
But after watching the Guy Martin transit the other day
If you had a much longer straight like he did, what kind of speed do you think you could get upto?
I know its not what your interested in, just wasnt sure if its built to max out at brunters or if it would continue to pull(slowly) if a longer straight was available?

Or this that hits 200mph in 8 seconds within 1/4 mile, from a 4 cylinder engine. 0-187 in 12 seconds is pedestrian in comparison.

Mine is geared for 217mph but wont do much over 212mph with 950bhp at Brunters. A Sierra ( Merkur)reached 211mph in 6 miles in the States with 600bhp that would be a 190mph run at Brunters so im guessing you could add 20mph if we had another 4.5 miles to trundle down. However im sure Mark would have a heart attack if I suggested another 45 secs at 100% WOT so its not a practical possibility.

Jesus and indeed Christ!! Mega impressive, looking at the rest though, you'd be well in the top 5 Rod! That's pretty damn impressive for a 4 cylinder (well, for any engine).

Cant wait to get back. The La Ferrari, Macca P1 & Porsche 918 are around 210mph with 900bhp so maybe a battered old Taxi can mix it with them. I do realise my car is not standard or a barn find & hence a pile of shite these days & having 4 doors makes me wonder why I don't burn it. However it keeps me away from OAP coffee mornings or my slippers watching afternoon TV.

Is that Koenigsegg a standard production car? Or has it been modified?

240mph is rather fast, and to hit that at brunters is very good going.

If it's a modified "hyper" car....240mph in 1.4 miles is still a huge way off the big hitters in other parts of the world. Some of them are nearly hitting 240mph in 1/2 mile and plenty of then achieving it in 1 mile.

That sort of racing just doesnt seem as big over here. The 1/2 mile stuff is getting really popular over there.

So I'm guessing it is fairly standard ? Which makes it a truly superb result even if it isnt really like most "standard" cars lol

Wannagofast operates a load of 1/2 mile events there, results are viewable too.

Ill have a look at that cheers Steve
Rod, a quick google shows the one:1's 1KW of power = 1341.02 bhp, and there were only 7 made 2014-2015.

Says is should do 0-400kph in approx 20 seconds. Do you know how long that run took?
I guess brunters 1.25 miles will be covered pretty quickly at those speeds.

The video said the run was over 1.4 miles ? Still leaves near 1/2 mile to slow down.

This old video of a GTR doing a 400kmh standing mile took 22 seconds. Although I'd have thought it would have taken less time given the terminal speed.
Obviously there are much faster cars about now

So if it is doing 400kmh in 20 seconds, it too should be doing such speeds un a mile or less, the video does look like he's using much more than that

There have been many cars well beyond 240mph, and in shorter distances than Bruntingthorpe.

If the Koeneigeegsssgs was standard, then the 240mph record would be awesome over the longer distance. But with 1400hp and perhaps heavily tuned to get that....it does seem rather underwhelming compared to what others are doing around the world with equally expensive machinery.

The Ford GT's doing those speeds would easily be 2000hp+ though, so quite a step beyond anything in the UK, and the GT has proven to be a superb platform for big speeds.
