Default FAO Omex600 experts..fuel pump wiring

Hi all. My S2 Escort running zetec turbo on omex 600 is almost ready to start up but have an issue with the wiring for fuel pump control. The manual and pin outs for the ecu states that the blue/white wire for fuel pump from 5b in the connector should be a switching earth (going to 86 on a fuel pump relay) but i have a 12v ignition live coming down that wire, therefore not energizing the relay. Also checked this on the back of the plug at the ecu to eliminate the possibility of a short but still the same. Spoke to omex...they said it should be switching earth and just to double check the pin is in correct location on ecu etc which is all fine.

Anyone got any ideas? Faulty ecu? How long is warranty on an omex ecu?

Cheers. Alex

Not with ecu disconnected. With the blue /white wire going to relay not connected to anything the ecu is throwing 12v live down it

And when you crank the engine or it starts ( or first key on prime ) it will ground this and energise the relay.

Job done.

What's the actual problem ?

I dont get the ground. Ever. Just a constant 12v ignition live. when it does first get turned on when it should prime and when it sees crank signal it always live and never switches to earth

If that is definitely the case and there is no user configuration in the ecu that's maybe preventing it working correctly, then you need to speak to Omex.

That to me sounds like the ECU may be at fault. I'm guessing if you ground pin 86 on the relay your fuel pump runs?

If you ground the pump relay and then go to start the car does the engine run? If so I'd be fairly sure the problem lies with the ECU. Having said that if it doesn't run it could still be the ECU. I'm assuming you have the correct ignition ECU feed and seperate sensor feeds in place? I have had the ECU do some weird things when it's lost it's ECU power feed but has everything else.
