Default Larger front brakes for 2wd sapphire cossie

Can anyone give me some ideas as I'm after a larger front brake set up for my 2wd sapphire cossie.
I know you can use MK1 Focus RS set up, I also hear you can get evo Brembos and make a kit to fit the sapp.
AP's are just to expensive, so I think that's out of the question really.
Any ideas/info would be a real help.

Thanks. Lee.

There are brackets on ebay to use the Focus mk1 RS discs in combination with BMW E38 calipers (bigger then Focus RS). I've heard that the brackets in the past didn't fit too well though, but I'm not sure whether they have improved or not.

At least the Focus and E38 calipers use 28 mm thick discs. The Evo calipers use 32 mm discs, which I wouldn't use in combination with 28 mm discs.

Think long term don't cost cut on your brakes would you use cheap ' Ditch finder' tyres. AP are more expensive for a reason im sure Martin can set you up for reasonable money.

AP 6 pots on mine, AP 4 pots on my last one, cant fault them although expensive for sure.
Have friends running the focus brembos with no issues but for me and my ageing barge after spending God knows what to make it go how I want i didn't want to make savings on the most important items.

Thanks to everyone who posted up, much appreciated, Been looking at e38 kits but evo kits also looks good better than the focus rs as larger etc.

Rod you are so right AP's are the best but not in my budget at the moment, I think I would be happy with a brembo/330 ish set up for now.Gotta be much better than my standard set up I have at present.

APs are never in my budget. Still trying to get the cash together for them

I'm going with 355s on the front as was advised if I wanted to go back to 17s if the 18s drive crap (currently on diamond cut RS7s). Going for 300mm rear disc conversion.

Got 4X4 calipers fitted last week finally so it total it's around Ł2.5K.

I'm guessing feck it, buy once, buy right and it'll be worth it

Philip.

I wanted to use the E38 Brembos with Focus RS discs, but I don't think they fit under my wheels

I've got evo 7-8 calipers and focus Rs discs on mine, the feel is very good and loads better than standard! Brackets are very easy to make up

Think I did mine for around Ł300ish

Alright Matt, hows things? Good info, I thought the discs need to be 32mm for the evo calipers as opposed to the 28mm discs from a MK1 Focus RS? Ł300 that seems a very good buy. Did you buy as a sit or source the calipers etc all seperatley?

Thanks. Lee.

All good lee, you?

the only issue with using frs discs are that the pads overhang the discs but it's a 2 min job to mod the pads
Calipers were from eBay and I made the brackets as it's just a bit of flat bar with 4 holes in it!

I'm a fan of second hand with expensive bits. If there in good usable condition why not? And you see some good ap deals pop up now and then
