Default K-Sport Brakes....Any good?

Ive been looking for a big brake kit for my Cossie & came across the K-Sport 8 pots with 330mm rotors.... Basically a complete kit for £869!

Ive not had any experience with them in the past but a friend has them on his M3 and swears by them.

Anyone on here used them on there Cosworth, Good or bad experiences!?

JP.

Ah that's good too know as I was going to go with the standard pads.... Not a problem as there's plenty of options.

I bet they are ok but would prefer to buy APs brand new from reyland at £1395 for known quality (and better second hand value) there is someone on here looking for std brakes for a 4x4 so if yours is 4x4 you could easily do a deal within that.

Also double check with Mt motorsport and Mk motorsport on what they might have.

I would try to stretch to the ap if you can

I had a set on my Seat Leon track car and in a word they were awesome the standard pads worked fine for me but my car was not big power.

Feel like AP's are more fashionable though if that makes sense!

Not saying they're not the best or one of just seems like they are people's automatic choice..... Because they're everyone else's!?

Again it may be because they are the best but after some research I'm hearing nothing but good things on the K-Sports.

The price is a factor but not the deciding one, just thinking the £400 difference between the K-Sports & AP's/Hi-Specs pays for my Rad & intercooler!

They do seem pretty popular with the Jap boys and plenty of people use them so they can't be that bad.

As you say, I think a lot of people default to AP just because it's the done thing. They're very good but there are plenty of good options out there that would probably suit most people just fine.

A lot of the Focus RS boys use them too, from what's reported they do as good as a job as AP's but cost a lot less

K Sports are cracking brakes as long as you don't use their shitty pads

no shortage of people wanting their brakes as I broke a focus last month which had them fitted and they sold within a hour of going live on ebay and I had questions asking if I still had them after an hours listing so must have sold them too cheap

Think that's what I'm gonna go for, with some EBC pads.

fitted a set on my saph last year, absolutely no problems with them at all, the standard pads turn the wheels black after a few hard stops but they do the job just fine.

the only issue i had was in getting them in the first place, 8 week wait then they sent me a 4wd kit rather than a 2wd kit so another 3 weeks for the right kit to be sent which then was supplied with the wrong hoses so i had to get some made up, the issues were all dealt with very well but they did add a bit of stress to the job!

Had 3 cars with their 8 pot 356mm discs..

420bhp Mk2 FRS with Yellow Stuff pads
580bhp Mk2 FRS with Yellow Stuff pads
BMW M3 CSL with Blue Stuff pads

No issues with all 3 cars, I did however find the Blue Stuff pads really dusty but in their defence they are meant for race use only
