Default F****ing Mk2 Focus RS owners!

I passed two nice Focus RS's today at different times of the day. They were obviously out enjoying the dry sunny weather just like I was in my 4x4 Saph. Only when I clocked the first one coming towards me I gave him a quick wave to say hello fellow enthusiast. He looked at me and my car and carried on without a smile or a wave back. At the time I thought f**k you then, then out the blue another one appeared coming towards me about an hour later, a different one. And the same thing happened. I gave a friendly wave to say hello and the cheeky f****er looked at me and didn't wave back either.

Well after the second one not waving I blew a gasket and thought maybe all Focus RS Mk2 owners are tossers and think of themselves as too cool for school. Surely if you own a Focus RS you can appreciate the sight of a lesser spotted Cosworth driving passed They deserve a lot more respect than your turn key toy cars.

Then again maybe I'm wrong, maybe some people can own a focus and not even like Cosworths.

Anyway rant over, I'd have left them for dead anyway.

So f**k you Focus rs Mk2 Owners!!!

You may not have noticed but to the MK2 Focus RS people*, Ford have only ever made 2 RS cars the first being a Focus RS and the 2nd being the Focus RS(mk2).

If you drive past them in a mk2 Escort RS2000 for example they wont know what it is. They only know that they own a 'mk2 rs'.............Hence the 'my mk2 rs' posts on facebook pages for example.

* applies to 90% of the owners.

Not everyone appreciates a classic Ford just because they drive a modern one. My mate was looking into mk2 frs when the were new and he couldn't give a f@ck for a cosworth. That's the same with a lot of modern performance car owners unfortunately.

On the other hand my mate has a 2014 t5 sportline an every t5 owner he sees waves which really gets on his nerves, there is a t5 every 3rd vehicle in Britain I think.

why would you wave back at some random knobber just because hes waving at you? when you get the bus into work do you sit upstairs at the front waving at everyone on the other buses?

This.

I came onto a duel carriageway the other morning only to end up behind some knobend in a mk3 focus St, i was in my mk3 fst. He flashed his hazzard lights a few times and fucking sat there in the outside lane, i ended up undertaking him at 120 and giving him the wanker sign as i went past. was running late for work mind.

It is nice to see a cosworth on the road, but if i saw one unless i knew who it was i wouldnt wave/flash/blow a kiss etc either.

I like being out in the Escort and other Ford drivers giving me a wave or a thumbs up, but I never instigate it.
However, when I owned a Subaru, different story. Couldn't drive it to the shops without waving at 30 fucking people!

Not all are like that, we have a cossie and a MK2 focus rs and will acknowledge all other RSs, cant and dont see any of them as a lesser model. Problem i see is with the newer model of the time you get people buying the lastest RSs just because of the hype in the media and not because they are genuine enthusiast, so now the MK2 is getting older perhaps more maybe snapped up by those all are more enthusiastic owners.

Do you guys think that a lot of new performance car owners don't follow a brand anymore? Just a hype, then when that fad dies they jump onto the next latest 'in' quick car?

Yes. If Vauxhall or Honda release something that someone like Clarkson says is better, they'll go for that.

I find the Ford scene to be pretty miserable on the whole tbh, I quite like like getting/giving acknowledgement to a fellow rs owner, that's how the scene and the friendly side of it is kept going imo, they obviously have a similar interest so where's the harm? When I had my sapph, I could guarantee escort cosworth drivers wouldn't give you the time of day, obviously too important lol. We've got 2 classic beetles and a bay window camper and you get waves off everyone from other air cooled owners to t4s, t5s etc, I think it's nice personally. But that's just me lol, others obviously find it sad

when in my rs turbo i used to go crazy when seeing another rs turbo on the road as it was a rare sight. . once i was driving along a dual carriage way.. in the corner of my eye i saw a red one on the opposite side booting it.. i got over excited.. floored it ..hit the roundabout..full boost.. back up the straight full boost through nearly all the gears.. hit 5th and then saw him just leaving the rounabout ahead of me.. i dropped it into 2nd from 5th lol and soon was on his bumper.. he floored it and i just went past him like it was in reverse.. lol put my hazards on.. and then pulled over.. we had a good chat and now good mates! All the cossies and rs turbos i had a play with i managed to pull them over and chat with them .. im crazy about old skool fords and love them.. a few focus rs owners tried to race me too ..the only wave they got was the wave goodbye! i remember racing a jamsport tuned focus rs mk2 .. it had the 400hp package on it the lad said.. i absolutely raped it in my rs turbo which was running around 300hp at the time.. then i pulled over and told him my rs turbo was standard and waved goodbye to him with the hazards lol ..i have raced many.. i raced one the other day in my e46 m3 and pulled 3 car lengths on it.. but he was a a sound chap and gave me the thumbs up .. think it was my number plate that made him try his luck lol

When I am out in my 2wd Saff in the extremely unlikely event of there being another one on the same stretch of road I would always give the owner a wave or flash my lights, surely everyone would do the same?
The last time I was on my way to Santa-Pod all the different Fords I overtook gave me a wave or thumbs up, to me its just one friendly fellow Ford enthusiast doing the normal thing.
Dont understand why some people think its strange.

Wait, let me get this straight. You "blew a gasket" because some strangers didn't wave at you, and you start by slagging the mk2 FRS owners for being elitist, yet then go on to say Sapphire Cos owners deserve far more respect than the mk2 FRS owners, and then you belittle their cars as if yours is superior?

I believe the phrase "pot calling the kettle black" is appropriate here.

To a majority of people a focus RS is just a NEW car with look at me status they could'nt give a toss if its a RS, Type R etc.
And tbh most are just office idiots and have no idea about cars.

This used to happen to my mate all the time when he had a Landrover defender, they would all flash their lights, give him a wave etc, he used to acknowlege them with a good old middle finger

I seen a new focus rs yesterday when out and about near falkirk. I didn't have time to blow him a kiss because the fucker booted it and flew past a line of traffic and was gone. certainly shifted well and sounded very growly and angry, quite impressive if im honest!
the o/ps story would be the equivalent of an old e36 m3 owner expecting waves from new m5 drivers. its not going to happen. your driving an old banger

I give most classic cars a wave and a flash to be honest just something I have always done ford or non ford it's nice to see something old out on the road.
If it was a mk1 frs I'm sure he would have given you wave. I had lots of people wave and give me the thumbs up when I had my mk1 frs even the odd hippo driver.
If you really want to get waved at buy a motor bike you can't ride anywhere for people waving at you. I even get the odd car giving me the thumbs up.

Or maybe they just didn't know what your car was.

Just because they own a modern RS, doesn't necessarily mean they are enthusiasts.

Maybe Ford could issue a notice with all new Fords. 'You must wave at all older Fords because some owners who cant afford a new one get upset' or maybe supply a hand that sticks to the window & waves like the Queen.
