Your car looks better than any new Sapphire Cosworth that left the Ford factory! I would love my Saff to look like that underneath but then if it did I would have to spend even more time cleaning it!!

Same here. I find it a chew to clean the top half of the car cause there big boats and the cossie takes longer to clean than the focus.

The thing is Glenn even in Summer you can still get caught in a heavy shower, imagine how dirty it would get and then unless you have access to a lift how would you clean it properly?

It was out a full week in torential rain for mapping, 4.5 hour round trip and got caught at Cumbria rsoc.

It wasn't too bad actually, washed off well. It's the wheel arches that get the worst, though i wouldn't like to do it every week

Moonstone sapph, 120k OSR arch needs replaced, rest of the car is rot free and un welded (apparently) F plate 2wd, running greens/3bar/500 style cooler, decent leather..needs few bit sorting, leaks from diff/sump plug/thermo housing, steering cowl loose, basically needs someone to spend some time on it and get it back into shape otherwise looks like a decent car Ł7500 he wants, sounds worth it as with everything sorting out with these current prices it should be a 10k car?? thoughts?

To be fair if you want one there's not much choice out there and there not going down in price. If it's Hpi clear and solid what else can you do. Tatty bits or bits not to your taste can be fixed with time

Very true mate, I guess every cossie is an ongoing project, not going to get a mint one for less than 10k now.
Theres a nice 4x4 on gumtree I believe it's a chap on here who's selling it but he wants 7K and it has no engine!!

I think both the moonstone and the late 4x4 look like nice original cars (well apart from the bonnet).

Yes they are expensive and I'm sure folk can remember when they were only a few grand but prices appear to be on the up and they're bound to sell eventually...

If you want one, and you've got the money then they're still cheap compared to the prices of a 3rd.

A lot of cars ( especially limited) models are going through the roof, I won't say what I paid for my Tommi Mak but I've had it just over 8 months and have been offered 8 grand profit on it, I declined not because I'm hoping they'll do silly money but because of how original and clean it is and of course because there where only 212 Red made to begin with so A LOT rarer than any RS500

I remember looking at a Tommi M evo at a local Jap specialist about 10 years ago (ended up buying my first scoobie instead) but I could have enjoyed 10 years with zero depreciation on that one. Was a white one mind, not as nice as the red.

Like s1 turbos, rare cars that command a big price tag but seems there's plenty about for sale, prob none worth the price they are advertised for.
High price tags bring other cars out of storage and onto the market, there's a radio for a s1 on eBay just now,bid up to Ł470 all by bidders with 0 feedback, another seller has seen this and listed the same radio for Ł600,monkey see monkey do.

I guess you're right, now is the time folk have been waiting for and they hope to move their car on for a big price tins year.

The S1 is a car I always fancied but there is no way now as I'd have to sell my saff and still add money to it to buy one..

Imo the high price tags on these cars will cause owners to stop using them on the roads.

I remember when i started doing ford shows. I went ro Donnington rsoc day and there was loads of escort turbos and cossies on track. Go to a ford show now and there isnt many at all.
