Default Rev Counter help on Mk4 Escort/Mk2 Orion

Hi everyone, I know this has been asked a million and on times and I have used the search function but nothing seems to be of relevance and anything that is covered which is similar, was never answered fully...so here it goes

I have a base spec 1.3L OHV Orion and sourced some xr3i/rs turbo clocks to install.

The plugs were different in the car so I have sorted that problem out by using the later spec plugs and re-wiring the pins.

Now, the rev counter I have connected it to the Edis module (I think lol), and all the previous questions, the replies are always use the green wire coming off the coil. My coil is located at the back of the block and looks more like a coil pack than a distributor and has a plug with three leads going in - green/yellow, green/red and black. These run back to the Edis module so I simply chose to tap into the wire near the module as per pic

Please ignore the lack of insulation tape and heat shrink etc

I have tried both the green/yellow and green/red but the rev counter either reads half of what it should and doesnt really rev above 2k

I also found someone mention to adjust the knob on the rev counter dial but this has made no difference.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need EFI dials?

Ultimately it will be going Zetec so im not too wrapped up about this, but ideally for now, I would like to get it working as it should.

Thanks for any help

If you need me to take a video of the rev counter to show what its doing, just let me know

Thanks for your advice, ill try sourcing an EFI clock set. Like I said, I did try adjusting the screw/allen key, however, it made no difference in my case unfortunately.

Will let you know how I get on
