I am not complaining I sold a pair of headlight covers for a saff which had broken tabs on for 280 quid.
3 bidders 2 UK the guy who one paid an additional 70quid for me to send to the Czech republic.

I was going to bin them......

Crazy world but if someone wants to pay then fair play to them.

If you have a 100k 500 and you need a perfect nos gearknob you will pay 500 quid.

I work in the restoration game parts are rare and more bloody expensive that old ford parts.

How does 15k for a set of triple carbs for a 1960's Lancia grab you and then they need to be restored....@ x per hour plus any machining and vapour blasting.

I heard someone paid 90k for a mk2 RS 2000 with 900miles on it from new.

the thing with eBay is like I have said before is it has a vast audience globally and you have got people on there where money is no object to them

selling generic stuff on there is very difficult as you have to price it to make it attractive to any potential buyers but also to cover the costs of fees stationary etc a fine balancing act

obsolete bits that no one else can get their hands on, now that's a different ball game, and a good earner

Another thing with eBay is never go on it when you’ve had a good drink!
As you convince yourself that you will need that rare Cosworth part and the world will come to an end if you don’t purchase “been there done that” lol

Fuck me they must be some special Weber or Delorto twin choke carbs to be £15k and they need restoring!!!! Even more mental than Classic Ford stuff.

Webber carbs only found on Italian shite!!

1500 euros for a set of fiamm air horns found on lancia's Ferrari's and Maseratti's second hand then they have to be refurbed... so once done plated painted new screws and tuned that's a 2.5k set of horns.
which when you think they are going on a 600k car it's peanuts.

So us Ford guys are to be fair lucky. Try paying 850 quid for 1 Pirelli PZero 345 35 15 for a Lancia stratos or a lambo countach....😂 madness.

You best get them out of that cold and damp loft wrap them in cotton wool and stick them in a safe deposit box somewhere secret

I wanted some sapphire side skirt clips but having seen then go for £30 to £70 for a couple of new ones in a bag, someone wanting £250 for a set or £100 for a set of alloy ones that take the paint off the sills. i decided to make my own it was cheaper

Not too bad an effort

Oh and i have no idea why anyone want to buy these !! old broken clips??
there is only one that MAY be any good

The plastic ones break then rub the paint off the sills then the 3 sill sections corrode.

I have some old spares plus some new plastic ones in bags.

I fitted the alloy ones and sprayed 3M wax around the grub screws.

You have got to be kidding me Glen?

I got a new one from ford 10 years ago which was £330...
I would pay that and more for a genuine tank as those aftermarket ones are shit.

Some people have complained with surge issues Mark but I guess it's ok unless really low on fuel.

Why? Pattern parts have been around for a long time and generally are well made, as others have said they have fitted them and had no problems. The guy has not had loads of bids yet so maybe he will realise he is asking to much.

Tim.
There is no pleasing some people Tim, I sold a fella a saph front jacking point cover the other day on eBay. There are my reproduction/pattern covers copied from originals. A few days later the fella sent me a message complaining that there was a gap at the top where the cover fitted into the side skirt and could I make a bigger cover. Long story short i refunded him his measly £15 and he sent it back to me painted in moonstone blue, looks like mr McGoo painted it as well. I have sold literally hundreds of these covers and everyone else sings their praises except this fella. I had a further few messages to and from him and I included the attached pictures of the imperial blue left hand drive Sapphire from Fords heritage collection, the fit was/is exactly the same as my cover that I supplied to him, some folk are a bit too anal about their cars lol
