I really dont get why you guys are moaning about prices, for instance the Escos centre caps were started at 99p and ended up at the £560 price.. The market found the value not the seller, Get over it!

Thats the difference between me and other sellers, I have always when selling car parts on E-Bay had a fair fixed price. First person that wants it gets it and the buyer and seller are both happy. The person that started off at 99p was banking on the bid price going up and up make no mistake!! Fear of not winning the bid gets people spending way more than they intended to. I wonder if they would have been snapped up quickly if the price had been a fixed price at £560?

I agree with martin the seller can't be seen as greedy if some clowns decide to bump an auction up on their own.

How can the seller be seen as greedy ..he put them on at 99p and they sold for 560 ..the people that bid made the price not him ..he was willing to drop at 99p ...fair play.

That is my point on this, put them on at a fair fixed priced and first come first served. The seller knew full well that peoples fear of missing out on getting them makes people keep bidding higher and higher and spending more than they ever intended.

I bet if they sold for 99p the seller wouldnt let them go.

People alway have a reserve in mind but keep the starting point low to attract watchers/bidders.

Had it no end of times before, won and item and the seller refusing to let it go for "that cheap".

What I would have loved to see if everyone bidding only increased by 1p a time and they sold for a fiver!

Now that would p1ss me right off. I have sold plenty of times on fleabay and I don't always know how much to ask so start low and let the market decide. Yes it is a risk but usually it's stuff I can afford to lose on or win on, part of the fun of it personally.

Not necessarily I won a 4x4 saph front prop once for 99p with a tenner postage, the seller left me feedback saying "you got lucky cheers" at the end of the day he should have put a reserve on it but fair play for playing the game fairly and the prop arrived in the post a few days later

My Son has a 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX and we have bought parts to modify and improve it ,both new and second hand and they seem fairly reasonable compared to Cossy parts.

Hardly a comparison though, Imprezas are common as muck and 2001 isn't that old is it.

Parts prices for Imprezas will rise just the same.

Hey but for only £23.00 for 24 months you can have the brakes on eBay finance, so must be worth it.

Should have jumped in quick Glenn, £90 was cheap! The seller must have had second thoughts and put it up. Make him an offer of £90 which was his first price!

Frustrating one, usually if someone advertises something and it doesnt sell they put the price down not up!!!
Did he make you a counter offer on it Glenn?

I think your right Glenn I’ve seen it somewhere also.

I’ve got a brand new in the box sunroof, I will keep it for 10 more years because it will probably be worth 2,000,000 by then!

The old man worked at the Dagenham plant most of his life so I was able to get at least 35% off parts, we both wish we had filled a couple of containers with Cosworth parts 20 years ago, “could of been sitting on me yacht in the south of France by now”

I had a laugh the other day as I came across a couple of pairs of side skirts, both were around £200 with one pair looking as bent as Louie Spence.

the last pair I sold were decent, straight, primed ready for paint and I threw in a set of my jacking point covers, iirc they went for £35
