I have 205/40/17s on my 2wd and even though it is lowered by 35mm they dont rub.I would think 205/45/17s will be ok.

I think they'll rub with 45's

Mine is fine with 215/40R17's

Why are you running those tyres? They are a strange profile?

Yep, I've nevr had an rubbing issues on either the archliner or wing. I bought Super T's years ago that had the tyres on you have and they rubbed like mad, went to 204/40R17 and they didn't rub. Then changed to my Comps with 215/40/R17 and they don't rub either.

Problem with 205/45/R17 is they seem to be alot 'taller' and that's where you get you rubbing.

I tried on 17 inch wheels with 215/45/17s and they hit the arch when turning the wheel so they would be no good but maybe a 205/450/17 will clear, but as I said run a 205/40/17 and you will be ok even with a lowered car.

Sound strange indeed I've no issues with those tyres. What suspension are you running?
