Default Turbo blankets ?

Are these any good ,or do they fall apart after a few weeks.

I think the zircotec type coatings may be better?

Think the coating is pretty expensive

Not if you destroy a Turbo. My Turbo cooked & the oil was
crystallised when it overheated with a blanket on. If you are just tootling about then it will be fine but if you use it hard be warned. Ive been there done that.

its the underbonnet temps the problem,had heat wrap around it before,but looks untidy.Would the coating not keep the heat in and damage the turbo ?.
Ive seen plenty of turbos coated

If you buy a good quality blanket, it will last a long time.

If you buy crap, it wont

It really is as simple as that. And never had any issues on any ceramic coated turbos. But the coatings will not reduce heat radiated as much as a turbo blanket will, simply because there is a physical barrier with the blanket.
