GGR Sapphire Cosworth aka Mia!...the story so far......
Owrite guys iv been a regular viewer on pf for around 4 years or so but have been a ford nutt since i can remember & dreamed about the day i would finaly get my own cosworth & what a beuty! some may have seen her before..time will tell
i bought Mia back in nov 2012 from R5COS aka pat....over in Ireland....it was as am sure alot of use have felt when buying a cossie for the first time well.... overwhelming! i never slept a wink...never helped matters when i couldnt find pat at the airport lol...but all was good and he drove us to where she was parked (a few mile away) couldnt have met a nicer guy to be honest and have been in touch ever since, so anyway the deal was done and the journey home to inverness had begun!
uk plates fitted
exactly how she looked when i bought her
as u may have geussed the journey home was far from boring...having never driving a cossie before i was in uncharted waters but that didnt stop me from accidently engaging hi boost and finding out what "warp 9" felt like! i had to make a bee line for the ferry once the deal had been done so overtaken cars was always gona be on the aggenda and that folks is when i got the jitters thrown right up me....the words said out loud "HOLY SHIT" were spot i thought....long story short...i got my ferry....back into scotland...stayed over at my dads place...my best mate was waiting like a hawk, he was blown away as u guys can imagine...that was all great but i still had the last leg of my journey home for where my girl would meet mia for the first time (who wasnt into cars at all till she met me) who said "your no buying that old thing are you" lol she quickly came round to ma way of thinking after a wee drive let me assure ya! but anyway listen life with mia in the pic has been a dream come true! i still get the same feeling now as i did wen i first set eyes on her so its safe to say shes a keeper.
ofcourse Mia isnt my first RS
hillary
probably the last pic taken before her tranformation at inverness cruise taken by a keen lassy
2nd hand rear lights from gary rs classics looked alright in the sun from this side lol
wheels back from RimTech!
much needed hydro kit after snapping 2 cables!
drove all the way down to have the hydro kit fitted by james at msd!
would rather buy car parts than booze!
these werent cheap lol
mongoose turned out to be a big let down for it wont fit properly but its not the only one im sure!
iv spent a few bob at msd since owning mia
as she stands now!
I no longer use Mia as an everyday car for i came to the conclusion the salt is way to big and dangerous for i found a lump so big it wouldn't fit down past the grooves in the bonnet vent! so a daily runner had to be sourced which was all working out nicely for her m.o.t was due and the steering rack was playing up, luckily i found myself a cracker in the shape of a Mk4 Zetec s!
didn't take me long to find out if the comps fitted lol
i havent seen this on another sierra so kinda unique...
before!
after! had just fitted the RS push horn but relised i wasnt a fan.
took me ages to find the ecu cover, carpets were removed so i could inspect for rust etc
so wat does the future hold for Mia.....well i had plans to get her in fastford...arranged for a ade to shoot her but a water leak inside the cab forced me to strip everything then one thing led to another and it got me thinking i would rather finish her to the point where im 100% happy chappy then let ade do his magic....so i had planned for a full underside resto which will still go ahead but i wana put her on road for next year so that will wait...got a few little things to sort for m.o.t etc then she will be ready to terrorise the highlands once more
this is the standard al be going for when undertaking the resto then all be happy!
for at the min she's looking like what a 24yr old car looks like underneath
thanks for having a look, feel free to leave any comments

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Funny you should say that because when I brought ronnie for a spin in Belfast he didnt say anything
The car looks a million dollars Ron never gave me a days bother in the time I had it only stupid little things. Looks far better on its original UK reg, our stupid irish reg system looks pathetic on any car and spoils them. Glad to see it gone to a good home

thats what i wanted to hear vicar lol.....i havent had her on the rollers as of yet but around the 380bhp would be a fair assumption running 3.9" diff gordon spooner gearbox and my fav part which is a genuine cylinder head taken from one of GGR RS500 touring cars!

hummm my old saph cossie i bought it off Phil/Boschman
I built it to pretty much the spec it is now (then James bought it off me)
it doesn't have the RS500 head on it anymore (unless someone refitted it)
it has a stock 4x4 head with GGR cams, T35 turbo, Siemens 55lb injectors, MSD chip, 3.9 ratio diffs, gordon spooner gearbox, ggr stainless system, had new koni shocks and ahmed bayoo springs
it has had in its time huge amounts of money spent on it but the original spec was very old and over engineered, so i removed all the RS500 parts fitted the 4x4 inlet and head, removed the pectal L8 ecu and 8 injector setup and got MSD to set it up with one of there 360-380bhp conversions i also fitted the low/high boost switch, i had planned to do the coilpack conversion but never got round to it
i still have the Fast Ford magazine with it Featured which i kept
personally preferred it with the 18" alloys and original lamps clusters it a 90's spec car so shouldn't have ambers fitted but each to there own i guess
i suspect the engine hasn't been in bits since i built it up so
anything you wanna know just ask
i sold it some 7 years ago now so its been over the pond and back and had 3 new owners
holds very fond memories does that car as it was the car i took my wife to be in on our 1st date
