Wenny crashed his escort at pod today
Not there today, but have been told he crashed running at pod today. Walked away but left in an ambulance.
Hope he's ok?
Anyone actually see it?

In a way its lucky it was at the pod his wheel broken if that's correct and.not on the way home. Atleast at the pod the medics are.close by and the walls saved it.from going.elsewhere.

Not good to hear, hope the cars not too bad, but, more importantly, Wennys ok... I'm guessing the ambulance was just precautionary, I'm guessing his neck will be a bit sore...

I'm no expert but the passenger compartment looks pretty intact, heavy damage to the offside front corner, bonnet, front end.

Saw his car waiting to go up the strip but rain was stopping play.
Hope he's ok, I'm sure he'll repair the car.

I wonder if the failure was anything to do with the use of banded steels. Not something I've ever liked the sound of really.
At least he is ok though, the car is only a piece of metal.

At least it let go early and not at higher speed?! Was it definitely a wheel? Didn't know if a driveshaft went or something? :-(

Looks like something on the O/S/F snaps and sends him into the barrier, luckily it was a first stages at slowish speeds

I was thinking as the nsf drive shady gave up the ghost then the power went to the of and pulled him into the barrier.

Apparently the rear arm broke which in turn sent the wheel off

How fast was he doing the 60ft dash? Would be some idea of how fast he was going
I would hazard a guess that whatever broke was due to the stress of getting full traction into second gear leading to the failure judging by the video
Don't look like a wheel as it looks like it's dragged him to the right from a front wheel locking up, suggesting it's drive shaft related

Wow do you reckon he hit a dry sticky patch as it was proper wet that track and the grip snapped his shaft, at least he's ok, he's a clever man he will build another one

Huge torque to snap it whilst in motion. Must have hit a dry patch?

At a guess he'll probably be low 1.5s 60ft at around 45mph
Launching hard at Santa Pod can be brutal. Things will break.
