Just picked up S2 escort which is running a 1.9 American tall block t3 stage 3 turbo it is running a gotech management system so it's also EFI with a uprated LSD BOX and group a cossie cone filter it's currently running 220 at the fly wheel and 185 to the wheels @ 14 psi goes very well but I'm thinking it should be more with the spec it also as a rs 500 style air tec inter cooler

If the rods are stock that's probably why it's so conservative, an old friend of mine had very banana shaped rods on his 1.9 at about 250bhp. Sadly I've often seen the 1.9 conversion fail to deliver the goods, whether this be a result of the build or it's subsequent setup I couldn't say.

You aren't making bad power and it's probably nice to drive so unless you want to start spending money I would leave well alone and enjoy it.

Owning a 260bhp S2 myself I can honestly say the chassis just doesn't cope with the power and is part of the reason I don't use it much.

It was built buy specialized engines and the gotech management was fitted by jamsport the lad did say it's had a tune up since the rolling road print out just my last rs was 185 to the wheels and that was done by Harvey Gibbs and my new one feels so so so much faster I did have a little go against my mates 245 hp golf and their was nothing between then up to 120-130 will have to get it on the roller see what it's making

The tuners used will have got the car to feel more aggressive but it's not necessarily any faster.

There's a good chance that if it's that much faster it won't be long until it goes bang!

After owning a lot of S2s in very different states of tune and a S1 with around 300hp last year I would agree with above and say it's basically undrivable and pointless to go past around 230hp.

It's just had full rebuilt end of last year and yes it is more aggressive than my last and running a different management like I say will have to get it on the rollers at Harvey Gibbs or jamsport just not many tuners know much about the gotech management so I've been told
