The fact the americans want low pressure actuator is probably because of the Honda boys running low boost with them. Geoff mentions this to everyone buying an EFR too so trust Mark!

I've bought a 7064 and manifold but I'm going external wastegate I can't wait to get these fitted to my 2wd. after seeing Caddyshack graphs of this turbo on a standard engine I definitely think it's the way to go.

I posted just the same Romain

So edit my post.

Hope on 98ron it will be about 540hp also. But first need to solve the idle map problem.
Cheers

Nice power!
So that's 572hp on race fuel not pump fuel?
What internal engine mods does that have? ie cams, headwork, pistons, etc?

If the car runs perfect this week i'll make a new topic with some details

572 is on 102ron, it is also pumpfuel as we can fill up here on the dutch/german border with 102ron.

Right now i'm running on 98ron but have small problems with overfueling on idle, Romain needs to fix it and then i go on dyno again

Cheers

1. They are expensive
2. Tuners don't know them / keep up with time / spend time developing so they rather fit ancient "well-known" turbos.
3. Engine regulations prevent turbos like this from being used in motorsport due to restrictors. Why would you want a turbo designed for use with a restrictor on your non-restricted engine?
Although, I am curious to why we (atleast I haven't) haven't seen titanium turbine wheels in motorsport yet.

The EFR is designed to be as quick as possible without restrictions->what you want.

Also, you need to compare apples with apples.

I think dynoing should be standardized, meaning that an engine should be held steady at 2000rpm (or something similar), then do a clean pull up to the rev limiter. Today, people are getting more aware of the meaning of torque, so tuners "adapt" by increasing the "hold" on their dynapacks to 2500 or even close to 3000rpm, "magically" producing SERIOUSLY amounts of torque as the turbo spools to nearly full boost before the pull is even started, just to get their customers happy (400hp @ 4000rpm). - then when the customer goes to drive it, he will never see that "response".

There are just too many variations going on with dynoing nowadays.

Is there a boost trace for that ? It also looks as if it's achieving boost quite high in the rpm ?

When is peak power on a YB running like the 7064 or 7670?

When would expect a 6258 to be at peak power?

My spec engines tend to make peak power at 6.5k and on a stock engine with a 6258 I would expec it at 6k

Thanks for the reply Mark. I've currently got a T34.63 in my Saph and comparing the graph I have to the ones you posted on page 2 just show what an awesome range the EFR is. My T34 is peaking earlier than the EFR's at about 5.5k but is only making 200 at 4k and 120 at 3.5k!

Cheers Rich

Sorry my bad, I meant full boost at 5500 revs, isn't that late for an efr?
I know of gt30's and t34's making full boost earlier than that??

That is not the fastest spool indeed. I must say in the car it feels more alive or not laggy at all.

Paul, no net yet, having some issues with spark plugs at the moment..

When solved going on dyno with the 98ron fuel asap!

Not yet, Oppliger needs to come down for a little tweak in te map, having some probs here.. When solved, going for dyno/performance numbers!

(don't know if anybody on here tested 100kmh-200kmh (60-130?)

With some issues i'm doing low 8seconds.
Should be low 7 when everything is OK

Can you fit a efr internal gate type to a standard 2wd manifold with no clearance issues for the cylinder head etc

Stu @ M Developments.

Secondly, as spool is much improved, your torque band should move left as the engines getting bigger, faster, thus giving you more useable torque area UNDER THE GRAPH. As an example, the T34.63 tends to make peak boost on the Dyno, when floored at 2000rpm, by around 4000rpm. An EFR will deliver the same amount of air by around 3500rpm. This is because the EFR turbo requires less energy to rotate it so it rotates up to the required speed faster. for any engine driven in this lower engine speed area, the car WILL be faster than a comparable T series equipped car driven at the same speed in the same gear. IE: 70mph roll on in 5th gear side by.
Which EFR turbo are you referring to when you say "An EFR will deliver the same amount of air by around 3500rpm"? As surely a twin scroll 7064 and a twin scroll 9180 are going to spool at very different times, aren't they?

Indeed they will... but you may note I quantified that statement as it being against a "Comparable T series" IE: You wouldnt try to directly compare a T34 to a GT35 for example.
