Yes .
Since Autoverdi took over they have started the Hypermax events. I was hoping it meant all the entrants could exceed 200mph at Brunters but it don't mean that its just for the fastest Supercars. Sound way too posh for me anyway . It gives us another month to get the car finished.

Last year it was timing beams on each side of runway getting the speeds of both cars but problems arose when there was a tight finish. This year it may be guns im not sure. They wont have the last of the crazy brakers.
H&S will see to that the days of the Daddy Thrash with no thought about safety is long gone.

It made sense though for everyone to have an exact point of when you had to back off RATHER than a "top speed v how big your balls are!"

The difference is the distances used. What a manufacturer claims is a cars top speed and the speed they actually hit are 2 different things, for example (Rod can correct me here if I'm wrong) the Ferrari enzo has a quoted top speed of around 217mph, but a standard one wont hit 200 at Vmax given the length they use.

The Veyron is a 250mph car but at Brunters it reached 204mph. Mine has the Power to reach circa 235mph given enough distance (It would be neither safe or possible to hold the throttle open for that long). We are talking the Topspeed in one of the longest straights you can find in the UK. Brunters is a combo of Power/Aero/Gearing & may of the Hypercars are incorrectly geared to optimise for running at Brunters. That's why an old Ford can beat almost all of the fastest production cars.

The TTRS is one of the fastest launching cars I've ever seen there.
The Koenigsegg CCR hit 200mph from launch to bottom bend with me in it, probably the fastest I've been down the first stretch.
Over taking a 700hp B5 RS4 (which I know is faster than a 458 in acceleration as I was driving the 458) in an 800hp RS6 with ease.
And I've been 223mph through the beams in the 9EXX (a 15 year old 996 turbo) after easily breezing past a RUF CTR!
It really is a superb day out as you get speaking to others and get out in their cars too. So friendly and so much fun.
The majority of the guys there are very amicable and regardless of price, we are all petrol heads at heart and the chance of going flat out in super/Hypercars is a real draw.
I've been lucky enough to partake many many times.
As a passing comment, if there's enough of you guys that want to run a half day, and I/we can get another group to take the other half of the day, I can arrange with Craig for a half day, half cost event.
I ran DeutscheMax last year and I would consider doing this again if there's ebough of you that want to do it.
VmaxWW3.....
I know the costs have gone up recently which is the reason the price of the event has gone up. Not making excuses just sharing my knowledge.

Because the BS stops. If you claim 600bhp & you cant pull 190mph everyone knows why its far easier to just talk about your 600bhp. Its never changed even back to the Daddy Thrash days.

A Ford day sounds great to me & if the Germans were there to munch all the better .
Problem is where to get the Fords not from here that's for sure . I personally want to face the Roosh mirage GT40 as that is the only other Ford to run 206mph. Mine did it in 2005 the Mirage in 2014. We have another 200bhp in 2015. Is there any other Ford sites I can find people to compete.

Fair play to anyone wanting a go but I agree with the majority in that I wouldn't pay Ł300 to go fast in a straight line a few times. I'd much rather a track day.
It's all well and good saying if you want to play with the rich kids for a day you should pay their prices but I can't afford to hence I own a sierra rather than a supercar even then though i would still have the same view.

Can I say thanks for visiting this site but there is almost zero interest in Topspeed running as you can see. Ive been a few years trying to get a team of cars to enter a Vmax but little interest .
I will be at a Vmax later in the year when my new engine is complete.
You will know who I am, the only Ford there .

I'd be interested in 30-130 mph day? Rather than top speed as I don't have a gazillion bhp.
Any of these still running? I know it's been mentioned that MLR used to run them.
I'm sure there would be lots of interest in this type of day.

Has anyone shown this thread to J1mbo? Pretty sure he wants the T4 record. Could be a good candidate

Ah right, doesn't Bruce Reeds RS500 hold the T4 record (I know he had nitrous though) with 191.6mph?

Yep! I reckon his saph would be within a good shot of matching Euan mind, there would be no shame in pulling the mid 180s (reckon its goof for about that)

Looks like the first V max of the year was a success held at the Topgear track. I think the runway was only 0.7 mileto the breaking point , but even so the winner did 205mph ,2nd place was 201 so still faster than any car Topgear has had on the runway.
Looks to be a lot more V max events planned for this year , with some more aimed at fast road / saloon type cars rather than supercars.

Will be interesting to see how many RS Fords enter.
