Big thanks to Jamie at Jamsport

So, bit of a weird one... But i met Jamie afew weeks ago, seemed a nice genuine guy. Then yesterday at Brands Hatch, i had afew issues with my car and my bro's Mk1 Fiesta, Jamie was more than happy to lend a hand and assist me in getting both cars back on track for the rest of the day!

So just wanted to say you guys could do alot worse than going to see Jamie @ Jamsport!

Nice to hear this sort of story on 2 counts 1) that you took time to say Thanks and to promote them and 2) that they took time to help you...I am amazed at how many people can help but dont bother.:top:

T4onYB 26-01-2015 05:45 PM

Might be a nice bloke but they fcuked up my focus rs big time, would not take my lads pedal car to them now, bunch of bloody pikeys, jamcock lol

Fullflush 26-01-2015 06:31 PM

Their business reputation is frankly shocking.

Of course people aren't always going to have a bad experience - glad you got sorted...

matts1 26-01-2015 06:48 PM

Can't comment on their service as i have no first hand knowledge but nice to hear they were willing to pitch in and help. Rare people make the effort nowerdays.

Marty ST 26-01-2015 07:36 PM

I always take my Fiesta ST to Jamsport and never had any problems.

Nice guys and always great service.

russ rs 26-01-2015 09:24 PM

I know quite a few tuners and most the ones who get slated is because they either tell someone the truth or people won't admit the reality most cars they touch ain't new and the more you squeeze out a engine the more problems you get!
And as customers we always try to do it cost effective at times.
Just my opinion. I work in retail and I have seen people slate my company yet my biggest turnover is form repeat custom so goes both ways.

Fullflush 26-01-2015 09:31 PM

Numerous cars wrecked by them, plus the whole secret/not so secret block mod they ripped people off with are just the tip of the iceburg

In a saturated market there is little point in taking the risk with them.

Oranoco 26-01-2015 09:41 PM

Fair play for helping you out but have to say our experience was rubbish. Loads of help and advice when we were looking at Gotech for my brothers build. Purchased the ECU and loom where the assistance and correspondence dried up completely. They only seemed interested in telling us our spec was rubbish and that we needed their inlet and their exhaust manifold etc. Ended up selling the ECU unused at a significant loss.

Could people give details on cars they have messed up. Only ask as my focus RS mk 2 is mapped by them, and to be honest I've never really been over the moon with it. But as yet had no issues either. I was planing on having a bigger hp map done as from what I can gather revo 4+ does not feel as powerful as js420. Puma speed and jamsport from what I've read use DNA maps, would not use mountune as I don't use any of their hardware and jwr have had people switch from there maps to revo, revo maps apparently kill piston ring landings so who do you chose really.

Give Nick Gower at R-tech in Hinckley a call

A owner of a FRS mk2 who posted further up on this thread had no end of bother after taking his car to them and in the end gave up washing his hands of them and went to SCC then he was happy, he was not chasing numbers either just wanted the car to perform better

JamesH 27-01-2015 07:17 AM

They fucked my mates mk1 FRS too

Jay, 27-01-2015 08:54 AM

AFAIK scc and msd are the only people than can map these properly

To be fair, they were the first to introduce the block mod so they capitalised on its value until everyone found out what it was and offered it for less than half the price.

Devil Developments supplies MSD maps I believe. They do a Syvecs standalone ECU conversion, which is the tits!

STeve 27-01-2015 09:08 AM

jamcock do make nice stickers though  must be worth at least 5hp on a power graph

Ah ok thought they did a live map rather than just lift the torque limits

The syvecs does look cool on the specs

Mark RS 27-01-2015 05:15 PM

What was the block mod?

XRT_si 27-01-2015 07:14 PM

Basically a Stanley blade tapped in between the liners! Lol

Well, a metal shim and it stops the liners cracking or moving. Does the job though, a few 500+bhp cars are holding together fine with it.

800bhp 27-01-2015 08:00 PM

How much did this cost?

XRT_si 27-01-2015 08:27 PM

Can't remember, around £2000 I think? Obviously it does require a bit of labour.

Most tuners charge around £800 for it now I think.

Roscopeco 27-01-2015 08:46 PM

Funny how you here so much negative comments about Jamsport , I always thought they'd be very good but obviously not .

Never been there but after reading such comments I doubt I ever will .

cossie daz 29-01-2015 10:07 PM

I know of a few people had issues with them .
One being a mk1 focus rs and Jamie couldn't sort it out for love nor money . Ripped him off big style and car didn't run at all well

mikej857 30-01-2015 07:48 PM

With every tuner there will be horror stories, Jamsport are no different, there are probably double the amount of happy customers than unhappy

Personally I did homework when it came to tuning my ST and used Devil's and car has been faultless since and I went to the block mod master Tim Williams

studabear 31-01-2015 08:35 PM

Whenever I've seen Jamsports fiesta's on track at ford fair they always look like they go very well.

JamesH 31-01-2015 08:45 PM

Fucked my Escos up too, damaged wheels, carried out work I didn't authorise, gave me back the car with no 2nd gear and did 1k miles mapping it!!

Jamie Going 06-02-2015 07:15 PM

got to love all this same old passionford i help someone out and i am still ripping you off been doing this for over 20 years so i must have been doing somthing right

thanks for all your nice comments

bobbob 06-02-2015 07:42 PM

FairPlay to Jamie for replying, every tuner no dought has stories of problems and unhappy customers. But it's how you deal with the problems. Hats off to you for helping someone out but it's us that keep your business going and without us you wouldn't be trading.

Lol I was just thinking this. Some guy just saying thanks and then a torrid of abuse. It's like I always say, the more u do, the more u get blamed for!

3i Jim 06-02-2015 08:10 PM

Sad thing is bad news travels a lot faster then good news. Jamsport must be doing something right to be around as long as they have.

My heart is bleeding for you, you well and truly fucked up my focus rs and it took some restraint not to knock someone out, you did one good deed for the original thread starter and we are meant to think your mother teresa, never mind mine and the other cars your lot fucked up, your lot cost me a fortune at scc getting them to sort out your shit workmanship

It was a "secret" block mod that the volvo tuning scene (and many others) have been doing for many years.
A lot over priced it and didn't offer any guarantee it would work.

Fullflush 07-02-2015 03:16 PM

So the owner comes on, doesn't address any of the claims, nor apologise.

Stay away!
