What's the longest you've had overdue on your MOT? Just went to tax my car and was met with the "unable to find a valid MOT certificate" message..

"Shit" was my initial thought, "Oh fuck" was my second as I found the previous certificate

I bought my Mondeo in early Sept 2012, with a year's tax on it, and a nice fresh MOT on it.
taxed it again at the the end of August 2013, then went to do it again in August 2014, and guess what? No MOT.
It ran out on the 5th Sept 2013!
So there you go, 1 year without MOT, there's the base line set

Checked the mot on the wife's focus last week, it ran out in September.

i walked up to my van the other week and noticed the disc was six weeks out of date. i didnt get a reminder sent through. i phoned them and got it sorted by paying a back payment but if it hadnt been for the disc i would not have realised till a fine come through the door.

Only a week for me when i was a fresh faced teenager in my orion 1.6i ghia. Sods law i got pulled didnt i haha. Only found out when i had to go and produce my docs, took car straight for mot, then took that in with the docs.
They cautioned me for not having valid mot at the time of being pulled but that was the end of it.
