Default ford escort 1.8si 1994 - battery problem

I need some help before i find a cliff to push this thing off!
New battery fitted as was flat after leaving the car standing a few days...new battery also flat after a few days.
I've done the test and the leak is showing on fuse 21. Stereo, int lights, lighter and clock. With the fuse in my multi meter shows 0.25 after leaving the car alone for half an hour. When i pull the fuse it drops to 0.02.
so i have found the circuit, one by one i disconected the clock, lighter, int lights then the stereo thinking when i pulled the wires on one of these it would drop to 0.02 but nothing. Even with everything on the circuit disconnected it still draws 0.25 and my battery is flat after a few days. I don't have much hair left and need some guidance as to what i do next. This was a cheap car for me and the kids to enjoy (convertible, manual hood) but is becoming a real pain.
Thanks in advance.

Have you got a Haynes manual? Could be worth seeing if anything else is powered by this fuse. Have you also tried leaving the car a few days with fuse removed?

Has the car got any aftermarket equipment like an alarm / immobiliser?

The fuse boxes on these do get damp and corrode causing a short circuit. Could be worth looking at.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I have left the fuse out a few days and it starts fine.
I've had another dig around and found a faulty switch in the glove box. With this isolated it is pulling 0.14...have left the fuse in and see how i get on in a few days. Still a lot higher than the 0.02 with no fuse. Just need to check the boot light tomorrow but this doesn't even come on.
will order a Haynes...i have a feeling i may need it.
Thanks again.
