None fords fair
I noticed a shed load of none fords on stands at ford fair again this year, sure this was supposed to have been stopped?
I'm not personally bothered but the rules don't seem to be enforced. :undecided:

There was even renault a trying to disguise itself as a ford.
They took of the renault badge and put a ford one one on.
I thought it was funny.

noticed a few as well, and thought website stated no non-fords on display
Speaking of non-fords, there were two knobs about 3pm that came down the hill from the bridge (one was in a black M3 convertible and other in a 3 series estate) and decided to drift round the mini round-about and then along the straight after it....even though there were loads of folk about, including kids and even a guy in a wheelchair. Doesn't bear thinking about if it went wrong....

This is the one thing that grinds my gears at any of these events is when they let non ford's onto the stands/ Although at Performance Ford earlier in the year at Crail they were quite strict on it for a change and was much better.
The other point above that I agree with is that the amount of Focus ST/RS's there are, They were even organised by colour at the last event I was at lol

There is a limit to how much you can police it. If we had someone going round kicking cars off stands it would have caused a riot! You can't turn people away on the gate, as they could be dropping off stuff, or whatever. What's crucial is that cars are funnelled into the show as effectively as possible - and stopping and challenging individuals would cause tailbacks... and complaints!
To be fair there were very few non-Fords there, less than any previous year - it's just they stand out, so are obvious.
It's a shame that some club stand organisers have so little respect for their own club that they're prepared to put shitty unwanted cars on display!
I also get bemused by the moans about the number of new cars - Are new car clubs not allowed to come? Or should they be forced to break up into smaller clubs? No, or course not. Thankfully there were lots of cars there - (more than at any show Ford show in the whole of Europe) so if you don't want to look as STs there was still lots too see!
I thought it was a bloody brilliant show!

We did turn people away from the track however - as even though we have stated FORDS ONLY throughout, some people though this meant they could bring their non-Ford and shout their way onto the track! All were turned away, and refunded in full.
It wasn't helped by some people who should know better taking non-Fords out last year - A common excuse was "Well you let an Evo/M3/Honda out last year!!"

I thought it was a good show and was pretty well organised so credit to those involved. we were a little worried as we joined the queue to get in at 7am and promptly sat there until well gone 8:30am when apparently all cars were supposed to be on stand, thankfully common sence prevailed and we were hown to our stand without a fuss.
The non Fords on stand didn't fuss me at all, I just figured people had come in their other cars after breakdowns or other dramas. It certainly didn't detract from the show for me anyway.

The only thing that I would grumble at is the Auto jumble that seems to get smaller every year. But that's no fault of the show and can only be down to the economics of trading etc. But well done to Dan and the Team, I thoroughly enjoyed it

i agree with the 2 posters above, saw very few non fords, remember the traders need to bring in their cars, the staff who run silverstone etc
i did see a honda civic on track in the session around 10am
ford Fair was brill though, all credit to the organisers

I only go to all makes shows, mainly classic ones and love looking at all the differant makes and models. I do love my fords but it all seems a bit samey to me if that makes sense. U can only look at enough ford focuses and yb engine bays and they all turn into a blur for me.only my opinion not trying to offend anyone. I love looking at the older stuff and how things used to be and can see the engineering. Looking at a plastic covered focus engine seems pretty boring to me but I'm old fashioned lol. Went to a car/bike show yesterday in new forest and they had a Messerschmidt and a spitfire chasing each other, u can't beat that and sound of a merlin engine

Yeah that was a right old fiasco, but I think this year has been a lot more chilled out and think the majority of people attending have gone with the flow this year which made the atmosphere great on the day and not much to complain about. I have seen a few comments on Facebook but only a few and that was mainly down to the Jumble and Focus's

I decided to go this year after I lost interest in the scene a few years back. This was the first time I had gone as a spectator with my family as previous years I've been on the concours and time away from the car was limited.
My first impression was as expected with joining the entrance queue from the A43 ( approx 10am ) and taking about 25 mins to get in the gates. To be honest though this added a little to the expectations as the kids loved car spotting in the queue and the high numbers builds the atmosphere to a big show.
Once in the show it was nice to have the time to wander around in the sun and take time to look at as many cars as possible. This is something I had previously not allocated enough time too as I was busy being a bufty before the judging.
As mentioned before I was amazed by the number of focus ST's, RS's and Fiestas ST, but this is the future of the brand and clearly shows their popularity. I did feel bad towards the end when I found myself walking buy great examples purely because I had seen enough Foci. Putting the cars in colour groups looks good but sadly means you walk past the whole group as they blend in as one. As an overall impression it did feel that at least 75% of the cars were one of these models. I'm sure this wasn't the case, but did feel that way.
I didn't particularly notice too many non fords and the ones I did see didn't ruin my viewing of the show.
The kids enjoyed the show and I must congratulate the show organisers for providing the free bouncy castles / slides. The kids loved the distraction between cars and to find something like that for free is a rarity.
As with all shows there were a couple of idiots driving around the show too fast and when you have kids this is quite worrying. On the roads is one thing, but some drivers were 'showing off' on the grass areas between club stands.
Overall a good show with a great selection of cars and track action. It will always be different for each person as we all are looking for different cars and areas of interest, but thats the fun of variety.
We left the grounds at 4 as we had to catch the IOW ferry and traffic again was busy, but nothing more than expected.
A good day out and yes it has brought back a little of the sparkle that I lost a few years ago

arrived at the tail end of a 2.5 mile queue at 8.04
drove a 9 mile trip down some country lanes and arrived at the tail end of a 300 yard queue at 8.14
got onto the stand at 8.54
so that's 40 minutes to do 300 yards
hardly exemplary vehicle organisation from the organisers dan, especially seeing as these times were from when i actually entered silverstone property and not helped by the fact that everyone was cutting in front and nothing was being done to stop it by the marshalls
yes i know it's busy, but ultimately if you only have 2 lanes of traffic available to get inside and there are many thousands of vehicles all stopping to get their pictures taken, it's going to get busy so they need to solve that issue
