Question u-pol gravitex stonechip - what primer do i need on bare metal?

got some of this on order as some of my original underseal / stonechip on the 1992 golf vr6 is starting to lift.

its as solid as a rock but i dont want water getting to the bare metal! so im going to wire brush all the old underseal thats coming off down to the bare metal! what primer or product do i need to apply first onto the bare metal?? any ebay links would be great guys

Acid etch on bare metal, but just a dusting then primer, then stone chip then top coat , unless the color won't cover the color of the stone chip , primer the stone chip too

Yes, you can either use

Acid etch
Zinc rich primer
2 pack epoxy primer

I'm using 2 pack epoxy, gravitex, chassis black, and lots of underbody wax, waxoyl etc

thanks dude ive gone for the epoxy primer

seems to have much better reviews and is 99% resistant to moisture!!

one thing, when i apply this to bare metal, can i give a coat of zinc primer over the epoxy primer or just put stonechip straight onto the epoxy primer (when dry) ??
