Do you have the 100 to 200 km/h time? Most of the cars I tune use this as a benchmark, it's similar to 60-120mph

in race mode it shifts at 7400 rpm which is 812 hubs.

then we have the e50 map 928 hub power from 7000 - 7400 it flatlines as the gt30s are flat out at 1.8 bar

what does the Veyron supersport do it in ?

still havnt put any e100 in her yet, they are swathing the rape now so harvest will be kicking off next week, the contracting is flat out so its all go still 7 days a week.

thought id better at least give the car its first clean in my ownership lol

so I enlisted the help of an old pal ben @ smartclean, he did a cracking job shes scrubbed up real well, apart from a couple of little scratches and stone chips shes very tidy considering shes done 24000 miles and had no paint imo.

il let the pics do the talking

the farm contributed next to nothing mate for the purchase, I just pay myself Ł11 an hour as a wage for my hours and that's it, I keep the company income separate its the only way to run a business imo.
I may have a bonus this year though as we are so busy im working my arse off constantly, im missing my eldesst sports day today as im working got a machine moving out to crick this afternoon.

were as far north as Scunthorpe, right down to andover near Southampton and everywhere inbetween at the moment with the plant hire

I made Ł15k profit from the sales/breaking of my 3 old skylines, that helped a lot with funding the purchase

if I minced the company id be in a hypercar lol, I wouldn't ever do it though business comes first.

Good on you mate. Its the only way to work... I wish more "businessmen" had such common sense.
The amount of people ive known over the last 15 years ive been in business that ive seen open up, buy a Porsche/Ferrari/Aston then go belly up and lose their house within 3 years is pretty staggering TBH.

Its not just taxation screwing the UK small business industry... its also a lack of bloody common sense!

my normal rule is if I cant afford the car twice over out of my personal bank account then I cant afford, I did bend that rule a little with the gtr lol, but I could still easily afford it with plenty to spare.

its the reason I pay myself a wage stu rather than just take what I want, that way the company money stays in the company I just get paid for my hours, then pay myself a bonus at the end of the financial year depending how well we do.
I try and run it as efficiently as I can, a penny saved is a penny earned

My mates just bought one of these, absolutely awesome cars.

I have never been impressed by a car so much.

Always thought a 997 tt was a good car but these are a different league.

I was exactly the same when I went for a ride in mine, it completely blew me away, my exact words to the missus were "forget the supra, its was junk!"

and that is genuinely how I felt, on a whole new level to any car I have ever experienced.

Sounded evil.

Will copy a query to this thread too, as you seem to be the resident Vbox expert lol

And I'll copy and paste what I've asked elsewhere..

Many people are using these, but they seem to have a huge array of these units available ?

RL VBox, Performance Box, Sport, Mini, Maxi, Allegro...WTF

The new Sport says 20Hz GPS which is bound to be good, but almost reads as if you need an Apple product to make full use of it.
Hardly a budget deal

Mini seems to be double the price of a Performance Box, and looks the same ? Seemingly most of the difference is just the VBox Tools software ?

Is hardware same ?

What are people using, positives and negatives ? Software all good or lacking in some areas ?

Is the Mini worth paying double over the Performance Box for example ?

I have only used the performance box mate but I wouldn't change it for anything else, its so easy to use and all self contained in a small windscreen mounted unit no other hardware is needed.
it can do lap times aswell for track stuff and log corner speeds etc and it logs every 0.1 seconds which is plenty for me.

the software is only needed to use the results and look at the time vs speed, 1/4 mile or whatever parameters you choose but the unit itself does display lots of parameters.

I think some of these new units need other hardware to work.

i have 1 pull with the r35 and i can view what i like from that pull very easily, can even see incline/decline in height so it can be proven the run wasn't done downhill, lat and long gs, heading in degrees.

i just select a part of the whole recorded plot i want to use, so in this plot i selected start from 0 mph and run a 1/4 mile and also show relative height

i cant display the height figures as it displays the time and speed of the main run, but in the software it shows on the cursor the height which was a 13ft difference across 1320 feet of acceleration, 0 feet being almost the top of the plot, and 13 feet lower at the end of the run so on a very slow downhill a 1% downward gradiant

this one shows 1/4 run and longitudinal gs, peak being 1.3g at 46 mph

im trying to get it to show the figures for other plots not just mph/time but as yet i cant seem to do it.......

The query is that the Performance Box is half the price of the Mini, yet the two look and sound identical ?

Ben mentions about Vbox Tools software that comes with the Mini...but the web info says all GPS loggers come with this ?

But then with the PB instructions, it's software is called Performance Tools ?

There must be some differences, it's just clear as mud what they might actually be. For double the price, they must be pretty dramatic even if they appear invisible lol

Just for fucking about mostly, same as yourself.

Recording on road stats, various speeds, 1/4 mile stuff, and also track recording for use on circuits and hillclimbs, perhaps in one or two vehicles.

And then noseying through and comparing runs after via the software.

As you see....it looks same

http://www.velocitybox.co.uk/index.p...s/52-vbox-mini

http://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/inde...performancebox

I have the ancient Race technology AX-22, but it's a bulky piece of shit really, and software very awkward to use.
Plus you have to stop, initialize and configure it every time you want to record on the road before actually making a recording which is a fucking useless.

That's my query...

They say they've an ex demo VBox Mini for Ł645+vat.

That's a hell of a lot more than the Performance Meter...and I cant see a difference ? lol

"The Performance Box uses a cut down version of VBox Tools software and falls into the bracket of "Motorsport" products whereas the VBox Mini is in the professional area and has more features and connectivity."

That comment above makes it sound like the software is the difference ? yet the website says all GPS loggers come with the VBox tools software ?

But there is mention of Performance Tools software too ?

Very confusing.

It looks like the Mini maybe just comes with more stuff ?

from what i can see the extra Ł200 over the full performance box kit gets you something extra to do with yaw sensor and input facility for throttle position and rpm, or you can buy the basic performance box package which is all you need really for Ł325 + vat, seems a lot more money for not a lot more

That price was an offer on an ex demo !

So normal price must be a lot more

It looks like the Mini is maybe the same as the Driftbox, as it has the Yaw sensor built in, but it too maybe lacks the option of additional inputs

It's Ł570incl

http://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/down.../RLDB_Data.pdf

Not sure if the Yaw sensor would be of any interest to me. I try not to go sideways ! lol

im sure the Ł325 performance box will do you fine mate, that's all i needed really i havnt even used any of the other crap that came with it, the box just stays in the car 24/7 and i just pull out the sd card to upload data to my pc.

driftbox is of absolutely no interest to me either bud, i like to accelerate hard not wiggle my butt and blow smoke out me arse lmao

Yaw would be interesting for hillclimb/circuit use though.

Not sure if the PB G sensor or measurements are purely on a single plane, or whether the Yaw sensor is needed for Lateral and Axial readings ?

Or whether Yaw is purely slip angle as opposed to sideways G forces ?

How big is the r35 gtr? Would be tempted but not sure it would fit in the garage I don't think there's much else out there that offers this level of performance and usability

I have a Performance Box its a great tool for comparison.
However I remember being tested on Datron & I assume that was correct & the PB was not that accurate. Remember 0-100 6.8 on PB came back as 7.1 on the Datron that's a 4.4% error. Since then ive not believed the box its good for its price but that 4.4% error would be 8.8mph at 200mph.

I would hazard a guess mate that rollout was on and on default setting of 12", which equates to about 0.4 seconds knocked off the time, my 1/4 mile was 10.7 seconds with 12" rollout, 11.1 with no rollout

if you didn't adjust it rod the rollout will be on set to 12" that's the default setting in the pb bud, and on a good launch I guess 0.3 seconds would be about right, mine wasn't a launch of any description lmao

I always shallow stage at pod so 12" rollout has always made my GTECH times very close and pb should be the same, I will find out if I ever get there lol

I was hopeing to get to pod next sunday but my nephew and nieces are coming to stay from sat after work so with 5 children here im not sure il make it but also happy im getting to see them as havnt seen them since may !

I tested my AX-22 at a few drag strips, and every time the data displayed in real time...was almost identical.

Within 1-2% almost every time, usually less.

But on the analysis software, it always appeared to have a small shift in the results. Mind you, it's bloody awkward to use, so maybe I was doing something wrong.

I can imagine the Racelogic would matter too whether it was in continuous mode, or start when movement is detected ? With the latter, there is bound to be some lag ?

that is the only area a small discrepancy could occur at the start, certainly not 4% across the board though no way imo.

I always use 12" rollout anyways for drag runs, if I don't it will display slower than I really am as I shallow stage every time.

from what ive seen the instant you move the pb triggers straight away and starts recording.

id trust it accuracy as bang on tbh certainly once rolling as long as its in good reception of sats, its logging 10 times a second aswell.

ive got a brand new laptop now aswell ready for syvecs just havnt downloaded software yet.
