Hopefully no one was hurt, cars can be repaired.
A yb in a s1 that would have gone out in 1st 2nd and 3rd in a straight line and you can hear he was well on it before he let off and came into screen shot on the vid! All these I think some thing broke on the car calls lol he was showing off and it went wrong I feel sorry for the guy and yes I've driven like that many times but more sorry for the owners of the other cars!

if this picture works then you will see that it's about 100 foot from the roundabout to the crash scene

That vid clip is really bad lol the one on Facebook is much better and you can clearly hear the car is giving it some before it comes into shot and let's off

Remember though, cars were parked right up onto the roundabout past the barrier on the left as I went home that way. It was really tight coming off the roundabout thus why I made the remark I did.

no way I would defend any poor driving which resulted in a accident, he was bang to rights and held his hands up and yes I have total empathy towards anyone whos car was damaged and it simply took the gloss off what was a oustanding night for passionford which 1000s came to see

a crash on the night in a cossie powered s1 was bound to make headlines, but i think the only thing it's highlighted is that modified cars might not be as well made as ford intended

people drive like prats a lot of the time, this one would have made the headlines regardless of when or where it happened, it just so happened to coincide with a big ford night at the ace, which otherwise went wihtout a problem

simply enforcing a no parking section around the roundabout and installing some speed humps would solve the problem, i'll get onto the council about it first thing in the morning

cheers

I have seen lots of driving up there that made me think someone was going to get hurt....these crashes happen a lot. People drive like complete knobbers and there are pedestrians everywhere.

that video looks to me like on the gas car pulls left booting it in second gear and he clips a car to the left then deflects off and hits hard into a car on the right.

Also I just noticed before he hits head on you can see something broke on the offside front sparking along the road?

Fair dos for him admitting liability but I reckon it was mechanical failure

I know from experience what its like to get the finger pointed at and then admitting liability knowing full well it was out of your hands

Well spotted, I would go with that theory.
Feel for the guy as lots of time and money went into that car and I also feel for all involved.
Are we no longer allowed to use the word accident?

Unlucky, it didn't hold up well but then again is basically a cut and shut. Hope for his sake he had it insured properly and not just as a series one.

Here you go...

I don't seem to have sufficient privileges to embed the video (Sure others do though?) but if you click the frame it will load my Photobucket and play it there.

That is the problem that 90% of us all do

It's just now what actually happened did something give way or was the black astra on full lock and he clipped the wheel and snap something on the steering as you here a pop/snap as he passes the astra?

You don't have to be an armchair detective to know, if he hadn't nailed it off the roundabout, he almost certainly wouldn't have crashed, mechanical failure or not

I drive mine like a cunt when I use it I'll openly admit it but would a carry big speed or atempt to go fish tail up the road next to a line of parked cars nope!
And I've watched that vid about 20 times now and on slow play and I can't see any sign of any thing braking and sparking on the floor lol

You can CLEARLY HEAR he comes on song, gets into 2nd bout 2.5k then backs off!!
If you LISTEN he's slowing BEFORE he clips the parked car and veers.

Looks to me mechanical failure as the sparks from OS front suggest, maybe dropped a ball joint/pop'd a shaft..

and tbh if your surprised at the damage to an however
well prepared ESCORT at such a low speed then you clearly should stay peddeling 5+yr old panza wagon's and nowt else.

FFS fella's put the forks and sherry down and go hang ya Mac's

Looks to me like there is a failure with something on the osf wheel which causes the car to bull into the right hand side lane.
