Default Garage fire today

I've had a Mk1 Sierra XR4i that I converted to Mk2 front and back ends some years ago in storage. Found out on Facebook tonight that the garage burned down today.

Took a drive past and can't see much in the dark but the roof has gone and it seems like anything inside has been destroyed.

I'll go back in the morning but it looks like it is history and I didn't have it insured.

Does the owner of the building not have any liability?

I think it is safe to say the car is history (I was going to say toast, but that would have been tasteless!)

The roof has caved in and the panels are warped from the heat. I wondered why the wheels had been removed then realised that the alloys have melted away - the steel bits of the tyres are still there!

The garage owner is talking to his insurer so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

No, they were both built about the same time but his was finished and mine got stuck at the paintshop and that's where it's been ever since.
