Views on EBC pads. Specifically Yellow Stuff.
I know people have had problems with them in the past but apparently they have got better lately. Had anyone got any experience with them in the last 12 months?
I can get 50% discount on EBC items and need some new pads so was going to give them a go.
It will be for EVO Brembos on the RS Turbo as a fast road and track pad so I'm thinking Yellow Stuff would be best?

PassionFord Post Whore!!
That's a change from previous EBC posts, theyve been slated in the past!? Lol I've used reds for years, on both std and AP calipers on my saff, seem really good, although, slightly harder wearing on the discs if anything?
Good price too, although used to get them cheap, as they sponsored my mates car!

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Not had them in the last 12 months but have had them in previous cars, had a mk1 focus rs and a 3 door cos and thought they were turd in both. Quick to fade, poor bite and feel imo. Also had red stuff in a frst which were also crap

biggest problem I see with pads is making sure you buy the right ones for what type of use you will give them as most performance pads operate better at ideal running temps, as running competition pads in a shopping trolley is just wrong the same as running OE in a track car

Use them in my M5 front and rear, settled on those after the usual candidates of Ferodo, Mintex, OEM etc and never turned back. The only ones not to fade and fall to bits pretty quickly on the Nurburgring for me. The M5's a very heavy car though and suits hot running pads... ive had customers cars with them in and they werent suited, too cold in normal use.

Some prople get in with Ferodo DS2500 others find they leave pad deposits and cause judder.
EBC yellows are good for the price you can get them for with the 'racers' discount from Bob.

you cant fix stupid
My brother had yellows for his civic type r track car. In one track day of Llandow they were down to almost nothing. His discs were grooved so may have accelerated wear but stopping power was no different to a standard pad in his opinion.

im looking at these for my 328 e36 too but its only going to be a fast road/occasional track day so not sure wether the red stuff would be better suited for me. the thing that is making me lean more towards the red stuff is theres meant to be less dust from reds?

there good on road but they don't work that great when cold tho, ive also used the on track in a RS2K and MG ZR and both time after a few laps they over heating and more less stopped slowing the cars. Came back on after cooling but same happens again i would say more less useless for track

Used Yellows for while, they're fine for stopping but the pedal feel is shit. Only had one instance where the pads overheated which was on a long session on the Nurburgring GP track at the first corner. They're a good cheap option for novices but I won't be using them again, either Pagid or Carbotech in the future
