Default Vauxhall omega v6

I no this shouldn't even be mention on here lol but I was contemplating Getting a Vauxhall omega V6 as a cheap drifter if they made one in a manual.I can only see automatics.Has anyone ever owned a v6 manual or did they even make one. This is for fun only and abuse.I think the 2 litre model is under powered in a heavy car

the old man had one as a company car back in the day - T260 JMJ. Was actuallly pretty luxurious for it's day with full leather, climate control, etc. Think it was pretty horrific on fuel tho!

My old chap had a V6 one on a t reg for years...
Mega barge for the money now days...
The plastic rocker covers on the omega V6 all leak because they warp, best fix is get the metal covers off a Vectra V6 and new gaskets...
Think they might be alittle to big for drifting...

Sideways to victory Glenn. Steer from the rear. I think its because its not as easy to get right as people would imagine. Quite challenging to control a big slide rather than just foot to the floor smoke and spinning wheels

They are only the same size as any other full size car, i.e. the Granada.

My mate has a omega v6 drift car and it's a fooking beast full stripped out with just a pair of bucket seats. Apparently the standard inlet manifold is very restrictive, my mates has a home made one and it made a considerable amount of difference once he fitted it

I bought an Elite Estate with the 3.0 V6 engine after dad had one when I was growing up and I strangely really rated it.... mine had the auto box and it was fucking shite for drifting!!

Remember fucking around with every possibly setting/gear/technique on a wet road/roundabout and it was absolutely shite... inside wheel got hectic, occasionally. Manual is the way forward, because I'm sure with a clutch to kick, it'd have got it's big arse sideways.

Might have been different with a welded diff/auto box combo, but I was so sad when I discovered my average of 17mpg was for nothing that I sold the cunt on eBay before trying anything else.

Cheers,
Grant

Any that were drifted here, were manuals. Whether they were converted or factory manuals, I dont know.

But I'm sure a lot were ex police cars, so probably manual from the factory

I'd say you will struggle to find one.

Either the drifters have them all destroyed years ago, or the cop cars are all destroyed. Manual's may have been location specific too.
ie England might suit auto's more due to the motorway miles etc ?

Over here a lot of them were cop cars, close protection, armoured cars etc.

Anything the drifters take over, end up rocketing up in price.

Cant even think of any decent rwd cars you'd pick up at a bargain. Maybe an oldish 528 or something ?

Either drifters, bangers, or they're all just scrap ! lol

There's a few sub £1k 328i's on egay. They're more likely to be manual than the 528's

Or an old Volvo ?

Problem with most is they're big and heavy
