Anyone else get asked odd/funny questions about their cars when you're out and about?

Not completely car related, but I was in a petrol station, and I was putting fuel in my ST170 
(although that's rather common now lol)
So there I was one evening filling my car up with fuel in a nearby town called Poole, when a little French number pulled up to the pump on my right, and out stepped this young lady (18-20'ish).
I was leaning against my car filling it up, trying not to go over the odd 1p (like you do), but also trying not to eye up the girl (to much). The thing was she kept looking at me, and smiling with it
So I go into the shop to pay, turn around and the young girl is stood behind me smiling, so naturally I smile back
Well I slowly walk back to my car (hoping she would catch me up) and as I was getting into my car, she came over and said "You're Paul aren't you", I said "Yes I am"
She then talks to me about my Focus (?) and said how she likes them. After which she asks if my car club is still going and do I still do meetings, to which I say "every know and then".
So a few minutes go by, we talk about cars, and I keep saying to myself "this is going well".
I then decide to ask her how she knows me, is it through my car club or face book or what ?
Her reply was "You used to go to school with my mum"...
"nice" I said... and got back in my car and drove off lol

I still get lots of questions...about the fiesta RS turbo like "you don't see many of those about"
Also confusions reigns regarding the fact it is NOT an xr 2i too! ...
"that xr 2i ain't original, it should have a blue strip on the bumper... and is cr*p coz it don't 'ave the 16v engine"
"Should have got an ERST, they had a 2 litre one!"...... really?
They "ain't fast nowa dayz" ..... are you sure? (Hyundai Coupe driver)

If the conversation turns to cars and they hear "focus" and "st" during the conversation ignoring the 170 all you get is "those orange ones?" Ive given up being a car bore and just agree!
I had a 205 Rallye and all i got when parked up was people muttering to each other "is it a real one, must be a rep" etc. Of course its a rep! Perfect idea, i'll do a rep of one of the most basic 205's and not a gti! A group of late teens were outside some shops, the one with the biggest mouth was pointing out all the things that made it a rep, i walked through them and blew all his points apart and made him look a prize bellend to his mates - it was a one owner car from a local garage, i knew the owner and it was 100% original
Met a boring bastard a few weeks ago in a MK2 Zetec S mondingo, he pulled up next to my st24, unfortunately they were identical colours he strolls over "oh look, twins!" .....i replied with "except you're missing 2 cylinders!"....."oh, i didn't want the v6 as the boot is smaller!"
I took a moment and took every ounce of self control to not be sarcastic then commented they're identical, i'd owned a 2L mk2 and the boots the same. He said the rear diff takes up space as they're 4wd!!!!! After that i couldn't load the smaller boot fast enough and get away!
Theres a "special" guy that crops up at a petrol station round here that walks around slagging off your car under his breath, i sat in my Jimny with a lift and massive tyres and he came by slagging it off that its only got a 1L in it, i told him it was a 5L V8 and revved fook out of the massive 1.3, he went away buzzing that it had a V8 in it!!

But nothing compares to the bullshit people spew when they see a Capri. It's always "my Uncle's mate's brother's Dad had one of them. 2.9 injection JPS Special. A paving slab in the boot and it handled like fuck".
The worst one I ever had was some dimwit at a petrol station who point blank insisted that my 1986 C reg Capri was made in 1966!

The usual question recently is whether I bought my car in its current colour or had it painted. I then have to get into the story of 'its wrapped' etc and try to explain what it is when I get a dumb look. Now I just say I bought it like it! (matt grey!)

And I suppose this was quite funny - it was on the ramp at Kwik-shit and had the whole workshop looking around. One guy underneath looking at the exhaust:
