Default Are 330d m sport tourers rarer than hens teeth?!!

Really struggling to find one that's a manual, lots of lovely autos and usually better spec'd, but really want a manual (

Should I worry about 136k? Just seems a lot that's all...

Any input or know of any for sale would be appreciated.

I have a 330d sport saloon it has 155k on it and is going well still, just make sure has been serviced with good oil, ask about if it has high pressure diessel pump go? normally happens about 100k also check serpentine belt and bottom pulley, its a 2 part item that can go!

The engines are lovely had mine for over a 100k now and don't want to change it!

They do lap up the miles! I wouldn't be too worried by 136k, mines just rolled over 165k and is still going strong.

They do need a few bits along the way, centre prop bearing, the 'guibo' rubber donut between the box and the prop, lower arm bushes and if you're really unlucky - a turbo!

As a daily, mine is great, I see on average 38mpg with mixed driving and the space in the back is very useful. I've moved house a couple of times over the last few years and you don't realise just how much you can get in the back until you try!

Scrubs up ok too for 13 years old!

manual 330d rare, tourer version even rarer.
big mileage no problem for these things with FSH, 135k is not high a lot of them had done 100k by the time they were 3 years old.

Yeah I've been doing a lot of research on um, turbos, swirl flaps, some vortex breather thingy aswell I heard, main reason the turbo goes apparently.

Aren't the rear sub frame mounts a problem aswell or something in that region? Or was that the e36's?

hope your research told you that the e46 manual 330d's do not have swirlflaps and anyone buying a auto must love danger if the swirlflaps are bending nicely

one of the best cars i have driven was a manual e46 330d sport with all the handling options fitted like msport performance suspension settings and msport suspension pack 11,it must of been one of the best manual diesel bmw's ever made until that time.

Mine is built 2001 but delivered and registered 2002 with the facelift front end and bodykit and is an "individual" with factory "Estoril Blue" paint. Was special order and imported from Germany. Its got Silver leather (electric option, not heated) a/c and sunroof, parking sensors and harmon/kardon system. Ł38900 new (original bill of sale with the car). Has a genuine 109k now, and it has an early 184bhp engine with no swirlflaps, a 5spd manual box too. Apparently its a weird mix of pre-facelift and facelift stuff. I touched lucky with the car. All i have done is lower it, x5 facelift wheels, a service, the turbo vortex filter, and few other things for mot. Has given me virtually 10k of hassle free driving. Love it. Actually about to mint it and take it off the road for the winter!!

Have you re mapped your BMW, looking at having mine done and called at your unit the other day but there was nobody there all locked up, do you have to make an appointment ? Only want to discuss the options and possible results at the moment.

Sorry you had a wasted visit, we do normally suggest ringing in advance to make sure we're in. All the dyno mapping we do is with third party dynos which takes us away from the unit quite regularly! Feel free to drop me a PM on here or give me a ring and we can discuss the benefits of a remap. My 330d was mapped (and responded very well!) but I put it back to standard a few months ago as the original turbo was just starting to make a little chirp as it reached peak torque, haven't got the time to be off the road/replacing at the moment so prevention was better than cure!

Please can you confirm that the the MANUAL 330d does not have swirl flaps?

I have not taken off exhaust manifold yet! (no need to) and with the m sport kit on yes they handle very well indeed! My diesel put lots of cars to shame!

Brendy, i was down at a bmw breakers getting a piece of trim for my interior and in conversation i mentioned how my car didnt have swirl flaps (but i assumed it did and bought the blanks to do the conversion) and the breakers reply was "we have had 2006 204bhp X5s in that havehad no swirl flaps!!

Yeah my mate had a precfacelift set on his E39 530d m-sport touring and it ran like 30mm hubcentric spacers on the rear and 40mm on the front!!

And my other friend has the same prefacelift set on his E60 530 M-Sport and its set up pretty much the same as the E39

The fuel pump relay can be problematic but an easy fix, bushes need replacing fairly often. I didn't like the sport suspension as crashy on uk back roads. Go really well though.

That 5 series above looks terrible (IMO) looks like it has collapsed and would be awful to drive or is it on bags?

auto box is stronger isnt it? I read somewhere they put up with remaps better as the clutch and manual box start to cause grief.

Manual 330's are hard to come by, took me a while to find a decent 330ci 6speed manual convertible. Love the combination of the straight 6 and manual box.

the auto box is a good box, i have a 330 ci manual and that is really nice to drive, i don't think a diesel 330 auto would disappoint as a daily, so with that i'm on the hunt for a nice e90 330d now.
