Default Wheel refurb advice needed

I'm about to start refurbing a set of mondeo 16"s and I'm not sure what I should use to skim over pitted areas of metal. Also what's best for stripping the paint? Cheers

I hand sanded mine. Started off with 200 w+d, 400, 600 etc. till I got to 1200. At 800 start sanding dry and then again wet with soap comes up nice and smooth when you get to 1200. But don't jump more than 2 grades a time. It's hard work but worth it in the end. Use filler to sort deep scratches out

I use p80 to sand it flat then p240 to smooth it out, then any scratches/or chips fill then re-sand and for the lip if needed use I medium to fine file to round off the kurbing, then primer and final prepping using p600 ready for spray (based on home reburbs)

Did you machine polish them after or do it by hand

All by hand. I used metal polish for the finish. I did it lightly so I didn't end up with the chrome look. I think brushed looks more taste full. I haven't got any close ups but...

A light dusting with the dremel took care off curb marks then started sanding.

You can get foam drill bits that get into small gaps. It does make it easier.
