Hi,

Trying to find the correct bolt size for a towing eye so that i can fit my tow strap straight into the bolt hole. Unfortunately its proving a nightmare as the trying to find a tread with the correct size is difficult. The cars a BMW E36 track car and the size seems to be m15/16 but the spacing of the thread is larger then a normal sized bolt. Anyone got any ideas where to buy or how they fitted theres?

i had this issue on my Leon so just made the hole larger using a drill

Towing eyes aren't usually a standard bolt thread.
Some are Left handed as well.

Yep got that and already reviewed it, but i really wanted to see if anyone had done it and had advice on where they have bought something for this. Took the info from the above website and getting some bolts made up.

Maybe get a machine shop to cut off the eye, then cut a hex head on the shank of an oe towing eye?
