Default £300 to change the cps on a yaris?

there's another sensor as well that needs changing but they can't be THAT expensive can they?

on a toyota yaris which is why the engine light keeps coming on

it doens't do anything, it just lights up and the car carrys on are normal

you sure it aint a stretched timing chain causing the crank sensor fault hence the high repair price? if not then someones taking the piss

Quite a lot of cars are costly to replace CPS!

really? in 15 years of working on cars daily its rare to finds a cps that costs more than £15 to buy and most are easy to fit

One bolt and a wiring plug and they want to charge him £150 labour

And he's going to pay it as "it's a main dealer so they know what they are doing"

£140 to hook it up to diagnostics
£20 for the sensor, fitted.
£140 to hook it up to the diagnostics just to make sure it was the correct diagnosis..

Im sure when I used to work for toyota nearly 6 years ago it was 80 quid labour then.

but they've already charged him £60 to hook it up to find out why the light is on, so why would they charge him again to make sure it was fixed?

surely they wouldn't have fixed something and then made sure it was fixed afterwards
