im looking at a s2 rs turbo. she is a h plate with 86k on it. did a hpi check on it on my phone and it came back with

registered dec 1990
8 owners
not scrapped
no colour change

then the next one read
h****kf is recorded as stolen
loss date 20-09-1991
ownership rests with the insures who can repossess the vehicle

so when the car was less than a yr old it was nicked, so why has it had so many owners and obviously been insured in that time its not been repossessed?

dont want to buy it and be the unlucky one that losses it. the current owner has had it 13yrs and changed his address 3 times on the log book so youd think something would av flagged up

any place i can use to find out? the car did come from ireland at some point

If the car came over from Ireland (republic) if it was insured loss it will not show up on hpi check over here! Also them cheap hpi checks on your phone are 1.Shit 2.Give false information 3.Not always up to date or do not always tell you things that are outstanding!

turns out my cheap phone hpi check wasnt far off the mark, went saw it yesturday, its a white shell painted grey and the floor vin has been ground off

if your going to reshell a smashed or stolen car why would you leave it or put it on a stolen reg??
