HELP! VW Passat 2.0 TDi glow plug light flashing

Hello,

So i need a little help with a 2008 2.0 TDi passat.

It will have the glow plug light come on and flashing, now the brake lights are working but im unsure if anything else like this will need changing?

The display will say workshop fault sometimes but not all the time.

Now it will not happen all the time and ive give it a boot incase anything is gunked up to get it a clear out and also added some stuff to the fuel to clean the inside.

Has anyone had this before?

Cheers.

could be the dpf failing, flashing glow plug light is a symptom of this

i have had the glow plug light flashing on a seat leon fr 1.9tdi and it was a faulty brake light switch,

Oh its a switch is it? I was told just check them and if they work then its not that.

Is this an easy fix or take the whole car apart and rebuild it just for a switch.

Should in theory just be able to take the drivers side lower dash panel off and you will be able to see the switch there with the pin touching the brake pedal. You might not even have to remove dash not sure as ive never done one before. Usually clip in clip out on most cars but some can be a bit of a pain!
