Default Escort Turbo

Im looking for some ideas on what could be wrong with my BLOODY car,

It is not idling at all, the thing just dies. Iv tried replacing the air lines as i thought there was a leek due to hissing noise, however no joy and still getting a hissing from the carb.

Its really starting to annoy me and could end in divorce (with the car and wife).

Any ideas would be verry much appreciated.

Thanks

As per Exeter J and sounds like an air leak on boost pipes, or a leaky dump valve if fitted.

There was a dump valve however i have taken this off.

Also i don't know the proper name for the fuel air mixing chamber i just assumed it was still called a carb. There are two airlines comming out off it anyway one to the rocker cover one to the bulkhead area.

fuel air mixing chamber i just assumed it was still called a carb.
The chamber which is part of the inlet manifold is called the 'Pleneum' and as your car has 4 point fuel injection there is no carb.

Anyway has the small vacuum pipe from the other side of the dump valve been blocked off aswell as the large one where the DV sat?

No worries - inlet plenum and throttle body are the injection equivelents to a carb'.

As long as you have blocked off the pipes at each end of the dump valve(So there are no air leaks)then yes,it is OK to remove it.
