Default Would it be difficult to fit twin 40's to an rs 16i?

Thinking of options for my 16i and just wondering how difficult it would be to fit twin 40's to it?

Not very but why? You'd need a cvh inlet manifold. The carbs and bracketry for the throttle cable. Some kind of fuel pressure regulator to bring down the pressure to about 5psi if i remember right and a good set up

My 16i has twin 40s and wish it hadn't to be honest, is a pig to start from cold and doesn't idle great until warm, also drinks the fuel.

Think I'm going to go with that set up. What about ignition side of things?

40's are very old hat now. Why not bike carbs etc ir individual throttle bodies. Much more reliable and tunable

Definitely go with bike carbs, far more refined and rarely go out of balance unlike Webers.

Id save the 16i engine for a rainy day or for a collector and if you're desparate for more power or ditching the ignition the go for a zetec on webber throttle bodies and the webber ecu, you can get it all as a kit to bolt on with a decent base map, no bother
