if its got crap on it and loads of dust id hose it all off first before putting a sponge near it, then that stuff u were looking at would probably be great, i use autogym myself but meguiars is meant to be just as good.

Cleaned my car & my mates turbo today...took about 4/5 hours
hoovered the interiors, cleaned them with interior polish, polished the windows...hosed the cars down, shampoo, rinse, shammy, polish cars and windows, light spray of water & shammy again
Autoglym do a kit for £40...has pretty much everything in it

Hose off first.
I use meguiar Gold Class Shampoo.
Wash with a wash mitt.
Use 2 buckets. (1 with shampoo in and the other with plain water)
Put mitt in shampoo and wash car and then put mitt in plain water to get rid of dirt.
Insead of T-cut try Scratch X.
Then apply NXT with a application pad.
2 coats too get a even coat.
Thats what i would do.

It's hard to say what you should do without seeing the state of the paint at the moment but here is a guide to some major bufty bling.
Wash body work with good shampoo, Auto Glym car shampoo is ok if it isn't too dirty, Megs NXT is good if it is dirty. Use a clean sponge and then rinse.
Leave to dry off or go at it with a chamois.
Go over the car with some quick detailing clay and spray to strip any old wax.
Do the following using a batch of decent microfibre cloths, do not use cotton polishing cloths.
Attack any serious scratches with Megs Scratch-X or a decent cutting compound. Or Poorboys SSR3.
Go over entire car with a decent polish, Auto Glym Super Resin is good for removing dirt and tar. Any stage-1 polish from the Megs range is good. Or Poorboys SSR 2/2.5.
Go over entire car to remove spiderweb polishing scratches with a very fine polish. Clearkote Vanilla Moose Wax. Poorboys SSR1.
Apply a synthetic sealant such as Poorboys EX-P.
Top with a naturual Carnuba Wax, lots of choice here. You can use the standard off the shelf Meg liquid waxes like Gold Class but for a really good finish go for a paste. Megs #14 paste wax is quite good. Collinite paste wax is a good strong winter wax. You could get some Pinnacle Souveran from the states like I do but it's not worth it on a white car.
Then for maintanence shampoo the car with the original shampoos mentioned, cheap stuff will strip off the wax. Then use a quick detailing spray and microfibre cloth to top up the Carnuba wax. Do not repolish everytime you clean, you shouldn't need to. Depending on use and conditions you will eventually need to re-apply a layer of wax and every few months you'll want to re-polish re-seal and re-wax.
Wax on - wax off.
If you are not that serious about it, then just get some Scratch-X, some NXT shampoo , the NXT polish/wax and a couple of microfibre cloths.

It is fooking hard work, and then a bird shits on your car or a cat walks over it, or it rains. The products alone cost a fortune too. And then you end up paying for a garage to store you car over winter and have to buy another
It's a hard life being a bufty

I used to be a Valeter for Land Rover / Jag at Car Shows and Events!
They used just Autoglym Shampoo, Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish and Autoglym Window Cleaner (Blue Liquid)
We would then sometimes use MEguirs Final Detail just to top it up
I can do valeting if people want it doing but I will not touch T cut as I have seen a lot of cars paint fucked up by doing it wrong and I dont wanna risk it on somebody elses car....I would give it a good wash, polish and interior clean though

Waxwizard and Swissol is the tops... You won't go near the A****ym word again once you've tried the proper stuff.
Don't mix up the terms "polish" and "wax", they are both very different animals for different purposes. Polish by definition has some form of abrasive properties, wax should be just that, a protective coating with no "cleaning" properties at all. Con
Paint needs 'feeding' to replace the oils that weather and ultra-violet exposure take out, polish will do nothing for this except take off the top layer to expose the next (clean) layer down, this is the main difference between polish and decent wax. Consider what the white crap is that Autoglym 'super resin' leaves behind.. and not forgetting the solvents in it that make your hands feel like cardboard when you've finished..
I hope the peeps saying "washing-up liquid" are joking, that's absolutely the last thing you should be using - the strong detergents and salt are not your paintwork's friend...

Not much to add to what Rich said......
...except that WW's paint restorer (their version of T-Cut) is far less harsh, replenishes essential oils etc. in the paint.
Also, it isn't really that expensive when you do the math, plus people spend a forune on their cars either visually or engine wise and then begrudge investing any money in the paint......

rs baz, id like u to explain your comment on the autogym shampoo!!?
i use it to clean my car which happens to be the hardest colour to wash(black) and a quick wash with autogym and its bloody fantastic, looks like ive spent 3-4 hours but really took me an hour.
maybe your just crap at washing cars, i dunno

I find AutoGlym shampoo good on my black car too. I find it foams a lot less so it runs off better leaving fewer streaks. It also has a protecting agent that lines your drainage channels to prevent rust... apparently. However I think it only works best on a car which mild surface dirt rather than mud spray and heavy deposits.
