When I had my moondust Puma the paint match to the alloys was spot on. I refurbed one of my Focus ST alloys with the same moondust paint and that too was spot on.
Don't forget a few coats of clear lacquer over the top too

You can buy bright silver intended for wheels, and it is very good.
Or as above, Ive used Stratos Silver before and it is a very bright silver.
Vauxhall Star silver by comparison is quite dull.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Both the RS alloys and ST alloys above look really good. What's the best way to remove scuffs? Fill and sand or just rub them down until the scuff is removed?

Stratos silver was also one of the colours that they painted the Mk3 XR3i's in, wasn't aware that it was also the colour for the alloys.

I am repainting my wheels at the moment and I like a bit brighter than it was so they will look very nice and fresh.
Any tips for what kind of filler to use?

Ford Alloy Wheel Paint Colour
I needed to paint the centre caps of my wheels to match the original Ford colour, and found this thread and a few others to be quite useful.
Most people seemed to be saying that the colour to use was Strato Silver or Moondust Silver. My local motor factors stocks Holts paint, and I found this when I looked up those colours:
FORD EUROPE : 1976 - 1992 : STRATO SILVER MET. 2C : HSILM15
FORD EUROPE : 1976 - 1992 : STRATO SILVER MET. 2C : HSILM19
FORD EUROPE : 1991 - 2012 : MOONDUST SILVER MET. 2C : HSILM11
FORD EUROPE : 1991 - 2012 : MOONDUST SILVER MET. 2C : HSILM15
See http://www.holtspaints.com/
Having found that the same paint HSILM15 was suggested as a match for both colours, I bought some. I am quite pleased with how well it matches the original Ford wheel colour.
When I coated it with lacquer, I found the colour darkened, as some people have mentioned. It seems to have returned to the original colour once the lacquer dried though.
See photos below of my Fiesta wheels. Only the centre cap has been re-painted. The rest of the wheel is the original Ford colour. It's not an exact match, but it's certainly close enough for me.
