puma starting issue
slight starting issue with 52 plate 1.7, it will start fine first thing in the morning and when hot, but if i start it from cold, then if i stall or turn it off a few minutes later, then try to restart, it wont fire up without a bit of throttle. presumably opening the throttle changes the point on the map the ecu is using. its not a major issue as it will always start up, it just takes a few seconds cranking. more annoying than anything, but i'm wondering if theres a problem there which could be effecting fuel economy or performance when its running that i dont know about. the only thing i could think it might be is i had to replace the upper inlet due to snapping a bracket off when i first bought the car, it was a late night rush job and i didnt have chance to change the gaskets so wondering if it could be a very slight airleak causing the problem? or maybe a temp sensor issue? any opinions?

Its not normal - it shoudl restart the same hot or cold.
They can easily flood when cold if you dont hold the starter on for long enough but thats about it...
When was it last services?
Recent plugs/HT leads/coil pack?
