How much psi is 1 turn on a actuator?
Just fitted a new turbo to my car, before it was setup to run 14psi on low boost and 22psi on high boost,
It's running 0.6bar on low and 1bar on high at the moment, how much psi is 1 turn roughly just so I'm not guessing wildly at it.
Thanks, Joe

Very hard to say as it depends totally on the spring rate of the actuator,
As a rule of thumb there should be a minimum if 2mm and a maximum of 4mm of preload on the actuator arm, the rest is done by the boost control system.
Obviously the fuelling etc needs to be checked while playing with boost or fatal engine damage may occur

Joe have you messed with the Amal valve jets ? Also you would be better using your original actuator with the pre load discussed . Test it on low boost till u get your 14psi back .

I once did that years ago on canklow meadows road I was looking under bonnet for a rattle and a lad in a Astra GSI turbo pulled up said he wanted a race so I reached down with my right arm with a cheeky smile on my face and pull the pipe off... Oh she went like fuck and left the Astra dead

It was mapped flat out anyway, it really made very little difference
I think I didn't word it very well, I never used to run it like it, but we did some testing to see just how flat out the turbo was, and yup it was flat out lol, fuelling was bang on with the pipe off
You get to a point on them where the exhaust pressures will push the gate open, and I was doing some testing o see when, where and what difference actuator springs made, and line locking etc, was interesting stuff I got bored on a Sunday
