Default Escort fuse box?

Alright Chaps,

Got a new problem; Both my side light and blower for the heater have stopped working, both at the same time i think. All fuses are ok too, the radio fuse blew a month ago which i replaced but noticed the clock wasn't working. Clock working now on and off.

Is this a fusebox problem?

cheers!

Sounds like fella,it's really common in the older escorts.
Always worth a try to get it out and see if there's any obvious poor connections etc.
I rewired my fans etc on my old xr2i back in 1997 unaware of the fusebox issues!!!
Just inline fused them, they worked fine.

Its a 51 reg ex royal mail van, 1.8 diesel. How can I be sure that the fuse box is the problem. Where would I get another with the same serial number, I'm thinking a second hand one could have the same problems. Also, would I be right in thinking all 1.8 D mk6 vans will the same type of fuse box.

Cheers fellas.

its not that common for later escort fuseboxes to bugger up, it was mainly mk5bs and older all pre 94, so if I were you I would take a punt on a 2nd hand one as they are best part of £400 new, and 2nd hand £15 - £30

Cheers gents,
just flap the fusebox down and look at the fusebox code on the PCB that will give you the info you need to find a replacement as they vary year to year with spec

you can just see some of the numbers in this picture near the top right of the grey/brown relays
