i have just put a new dpf on my 2008 focus 1.6 has the old one any value for scrap. i was told it had but when i took it to a scrap yard the guy offer me £1.50 for it????

It's only a breeze block in there

Unless its a 2 parts one with the cat built in?

gg75 29-10-2012 08:47 PM

im not sure but i think it has the cat built in.

Depends on design etc. I scrapped an Audi one in for £60. But the scrap bloke said other ones are worth nothing, like the Mercedes ones. Need to find a proper cat scrapper.

ok.thanks for the info.

also depends on construction, if it's just a ceramic one they aren't worth much, platinum finished ones rake in the rewards

thanks for the info guys.i took the old dpf to a different scrap yard and got £40 for it,a lot more than the £1.50 the first guy offered me:grin::content:

check the construction is it a swirl or honeycomb, as a rule honeycombs are precious
