I don't really agree as it was him and his mate that had built the engine.25 mile and pop we had travelled from Northampton to get it ...4.5k rebuild at Harvey Gibbs ontop of what he payed for the car....I'm sure you would have been happy with that.anyway I'm not on here for that I'm just trying to trace the car as it is now

I will tell you what happened, The guy took it for an hour long test drive thrashing and abusing it, my wife was that concerened she phoned me and asked where we were as she thought we had ditched it. on the test drive he was hitting the faders in all the gears, i wasnt impressed and told him if he drove it like that it wouldnt last long. The car had just undergone a top end overhaul and was dynod and running sweet. we parked it up in the garage and the milage was taken and the car never moved until he picked it up. As the guy left me and the wife stood outside and although the car had gone out of sight we could hear the car hitting the faders as he drove off the estate. I turned to the wife and said he will wreck it. The next time i see the car is pictures off it getting ragged up and down the straight at santa pod. Plus when he sold it it had been debadged, all the carbon fiber splitter, hockey sticks etc had been painted over. Any one who knows me will tell you that car was well looked after and wanted for nothing. The guy phoned me and he was at Tebay which is 50+ miles away from my house to say it was knocking. Now as you can imagine if he had caused the damage he had done on the test drive it would have been me with a bill for Ł4.5k would it not. surely i cant be blamed if a big end bearing went, was only the head that was o/h.

Car looked nice in th pics. Mechanical abuse does not last long on a cossie, some people get out of modern new cars and think they can abuse a car of 15 plus years old the same way, while the engine is no doubt pushing double the original power.

Sean as I recall you was driving it harder on the test drive than he was as I was the passenger you took out and if he was flooring it out of your estate then that's one slow cossie

As I was behind in that passat we came in and I was behind him all the time,I'm not on here for a slagging match I just wanna see what's been done since my mate sold it....we went to Santa pod twice with it and the carbon splitter was painted in the end due to the aa smashing it when it was loaded on the day we fetched it from you....the car wasn't abused by my mate either he spend loads on it as you did

Yeah i was chatting to the guy who owns it now at ford fair, he said he bolted a 2nd hand t4 to it or something and it smokes badly etc, also i think its a bit beaten now and the paint has been rubbed through in places where its been polished so much, from what i was told.

It would seem so, but surely this could happen at any time.Doesnt give any warning. i Had the car 3 years and the only thing really what went wrong with it was Head gasket failed after 8 years, popped front drivers side shaft on full lock. As for helping the guy what did he want me to do, he said the recovery truck was coming. He mentioned he wanted the money back to repair it.

Yeah he's had loads of problems with it. Hasn't been I. The road much but he drives it like a cunt aswell.
Gets it quite sideways though lol.
Blew the diff straight away, dunno what's wrong with it now but he was in his Rs turbo at ford fair so can only assume its still of the road.
Pretty car though. Lovely colour.

He seemed a bit of a lad when he came to pick it up off my mate......it was a smart car when my mate got it off Sean (apart from the big end bearing)and was in vgc when my mate sold it,the lad said he had plans for it but not to bolt second hand parts to it and f##k it up
