There's a valve on the pump, fucked if I can remember what it's called as its been years now since I changed one but I know they used to be pretty common and give the symptoms you describe. Couple of bolts and have to push a couple of pins out of the multi plug as far as I recall.

Had the same problem on mine mate. Unplug the EGR valve and happy days or if your feeling flush just change it.

1.9 doesn't have EGR valve, only the later 1.5dci has EGR on a kangoo.

Company I work for has a fleet of the bloody things, been a fair while since did anything on a 1.9 in a kangoo to be honest, think we got rid of most in 2003. Any diesel specialist would piss it with that valve I mentioned before, it'd be money well spent as they're fiddly fuckers to get at.

Its on the right hand side of the air filter box mate. You cant miss the plug sticking up and from memory its a white plug. Just unclip it and let it stand overnight then when you fire it up in the morning you will see that its fixed.

It should be there mate unless someone has taken it off and blanked it. If they have then i am totally wrong but that the main cause of your problem.

the 1.9 f8q n/a engine in a 2000 model renault Kangoo did not come with a egr valve never ever no way! i think you're confusing it with the similar turbo engine in the traffic, they had a egr valve placed exactly where you're describing and they fail on a weekly basis. unplugging it over night however would have no effect what so ever, they usually snap in half.
