Podgy dog

Started the car today and it was making an odd knocking/ticking noise and ive started it, restarted it, left it to run and driven it but there is no difference the noise is still there. Ive never had this noise before its always had a bit of pistonslap but its odd and makes me nervous. Any ideas what it is?

Sounds just like a sticky lifter, but they usually clear pretty quick?

I thought that aswell but it refuses to go. Also mentioned it to my dad who drves it every now and again and he said it was making that noise last week aswell.

it could be a blockage in one of the injectors OR the little end might be starting to knock

Check the bolts on the water pump pulley. Sounds daft but it does happen.
