4x4 Mondeos - what are they like?
Mate of mine (a rallydriver) has found one and wants it as daily driver. He says it killed him with it's handling and he wan'e me to get some knowledge on how bad maintenance is, how much it differs from normal Mondeo and how rare parts are? Now he drives 1.6 automatic Impreza. Any info anybody?

Obtainable? Or simply rare as RS200 parts?

Don't know much about them im afraid - they were campained in European Touring car series in the mid 90's with limited success. As for parts - can't say ive ever come across anyhting labelled mondeo 4x4 however its highly likely ford lifted the drive train from another car in order to save costs.

The Mondeo Si comes in 4x4 flavour, but they are quite hard to get hold of. Seen decent 2WD Mondeo Si's going from Ł500 - Ł800 but the 4x4's seem to start from a grand up.

Anybody know something technical? I know it's MTX-75 4x4 gearbox. How fragile is it? :-/ Maybe Bernie @ Gearboxman knows something??

I drove one when new and remember quite a lot of driveline shunt - not as well sorted as the Sierra 4x4 - probably because the engine faces the wrong way.
